You can only have a max of three backups -> To use Inhabited Machine II you can only have 2 backups existing.

This dynamic feels wrong as intuitively you don't think about number of backups, but the number of Wx copies (e.g., the player + 3 backups) and when you die, you become a ghost (no robot body). I think dying via Inhabited Machine II should always create a backup (as you have just lost your main body, the count should be preserved).

There are different ways of keeping the backup count stable. Here is the a simple approach:

  • If you then resurrect in a different way (not using a backup body - Inhabited Machine 1) *then* the most recent backup body gets destroyed.

I like them. I don't think they need removing/reworking. Inhabited Machine II just has two major issues:

1. The likely possibility of the body being destroyed in a boss fight.

2. Having to have 1 less backup body, and that feeling weird.

But aside from that, it is cool. Cool, on theme and mechanically interesting i.m.o.

I just think it feels clanky and un-intuitive. I think of total number of robots bodies, and when you die you stop having a body.

I'd also be more okay with it costing a backup body if there were more backup bodies (it would still be clanky / odd, but less likely to feel like an issue). The count is a bit too limited, i.m.o. And the safety net is nice, but comes with enough downsides without costing a backup body slot i.m.o. (re-spawning with zero charges is a big deal, i.m.o.).

What if upon dying wx would teleport to closest body and the damaged one would become unclaimed, with the skill that would revive you with max hp would instead make the damaged body be still claimed even after dying.

Like in the skill tree trailer where spider queen damaged him.

Not my preference, but I think that would be an improvement 4 sure.

I'd prefer just dropping it though, and allowing WX to use it (along with the clean up of destroying the body / un-claiming it if you resurrect by other means).
