I think the shadow affinity just doesn't make any sense. It's cool that it gives a 25% damage increase but why is there a built in lazy forager? And why is their strange vines and plants spawning around a chassis? It's like a bunch of random unrelated perks that are crammed into 1 skill. These skills aren't bad just kind of random. I wouldn't mind if they went unchanged but I would pefer if they tweaked some things. I really don't want anything too op because Wx is op enough.

(Also I couldn't find the difference between the possessed atrium and regular atrium could someone please tell me? I do 103 damage with a shadow maul with either atrium and 100 to planar targets. )

So far I think the beta is pretty cool I just think they need to work on the affinity skills. IMO the base buff of adding extra WX slots is honestly good enough we don't need anything too crazy. I have messed with the shadow one more than the lunar so I don't really have anything to say about the lunar side but the clones do seem pretty cool (Maybe they shouldn't starve though just saying)

I like the vines on the chassis, it's representing shadow corruption on the chassis from the atrium. Implanting shadow hearts into a robot is a cool concept.

It's a lot clearer after the vfx update last night, the chassis form spawns mimicreeps and the player with the heart can use minicreeped items without them transforming. Essentially, WX can infinitely use weapons and staffs that are created from mimicreeps (along with anything else you can mimicreep, except construction amulets)

i saw somebody with the idea that the atrium more exemplifies what wx desires. that being power and possesions. i like it tbh, i don't think its much to linger on.

possessed atrium allows you to use mimicked items like regular (minus con amulet), and the inactive chassis will sometimes spawn a mimic

The shadow affinity is the one I like the most. My favorite part about it is how it evolves throughout the game. Early game shadows are picking up items for us, mid game  the shadows increase our damage and late game the mimicreeps shenanigas.

Yeah like I said, I do like the skills and I like that it evolves, I just feel like they don't really make sense together. For example (stay with me) orange gems teleport things, red gems bring fire, blue gems bring ice, etc. This is Consistent, why does plugging in nightmare fule pick things up? The damage part makes sense but it's sort of strange (maybe if it was an orange gem that would make sense) and why does the atrium spawn vines? The possessd atrium does make sense though It might grow on me but it just doesn't feel consistent.

we could try to say that the hands are the same that weakers the fire sources, but repurposed to get items for us, the vines in the chasis are from the boulder trees created by the shadows after the rift is open

Well, the Circuit system is already designed to do exactly that. You scan creatures to unlock new circuits, allowing WX to naturally evolve throughout the game. If they just integrated the Affinities into the Gamma Circuits, you would still get exactly the progression you want, and it would also be exactly what I'm hoping for too.

This doesnt make sense. The shadow atrium is a heart corrupted by darkness? Sure. Why wx wants to... desire twigs and manures. It doenst make sense as a skill, much less as the last affinity of his. Its like they worked 100% on the lunar side and shadow side is just "Here's some damage and some niche utility" not really "here's something strongly related to this character lorewise"

Its a stretch, at best, to say its an "heart of desire".

Not trying to be offensive, this skill would go much better as maxwell or wicker, they are strongly related to the ruins and the shadows. Wx-78 is rather the opposite, focusing on lunar or simply not caring for magic powers. Shadow atrium doesnt feel like fill any gap in his character, rather makes him just strongly convenient at all times.

If this went for maxwell who has really short HP it would make sense as you will be wasting alot of armor and etc, otherwise i dont see my wx-78 gameplays being about needing more damage / utility or mimicking tools that are easily replenishable way faster.

Its Charlie who gets the "light", fuelweaver/shadow pieces have no influence overall unless you set them free. Thats their whole lore, they imprisoned themselves to avoid further corruption of the world.
