well watching the various beta streams and i saw one of the new circuits that acts like an Elastispacer for one inventory slot per circuit and since year of the clockwork knight is still going on for those gilded knights, lucky horseshoes etc.

 

if the lucky horseshoes still counts being in his inventory giving WX-78 the luck buff while in the infinite storage slot from the circuit then he gonna be one lucky robot and i wonder if any of the streamers gonna test on how much luck is too much by cramming loads and loads of lucky horseshoes lol (if there is no cap from the luck buff)

 

also cant wait to see what other goodies the beta will bring

The luck system at the moment has these kind of thresholds when it comes to certain events, from the looks of it, they still have some things to add to it once the year of the knight is passed. 

So yes certain things have a cap, but others have higher or smaller ones I believe.

DVGMedia made a good video on this stuff.

From the looks of it at this time, We have the additive, multiplicative and hyperbolic luck based events

The additive ones that apply to Wx-78 would be...

  • probabilities of ancient tree seeds in a treasure chest go up +10% per luck point
  • massage in a bottle chance of being a message rather then treasure goes down -20% per luck point (after crab king this is irrelevant when giving pearl the cracked pearl, since it makes all bottles treasure after the fact but still worth noting)
  • This is a big one, Thule crown's shield activation goes up +10% per luck point
  • fish spawning goes up +25% per point of luck
  • shadow tentacles chance from the Thule club go up +20% per luck point
  • tail-O'-three cats crit stun goes up +50% per luck point
  • chances of birds dropping items goes up +25% per luck point (I believe this is in relation to early game new players in a server getting grass twigs or flint from birds, could be seeds as well but it's unclear)

Then we got the lucky and unlucky events, depending if its a lucky check or a unlucky check a different amount of luck or unlucky-ness will be needed to have a certain thing happen. Not to mention for some reason the lucky check and unlucky check have separate equations for how the are calculated.

Since there are so many, it's best to focus on the Wx-78 events that would impact gameplay, these would be...

  • Clockworks spawning from junk heaps when hammered, ideal to have negative luck as positive seems to prevent them from spawning instead. This could allow for a easier time amassing a robot army and cost less gears overall.
  • snurtles spawning in strangely enough...
  • followers loosing friendship when panicked by a boss, I had NO CLUE this was a thing... (not important to clockworks as they don't get panicked)
  • Normally, lightning would have a lesser chance of striking the player if your luck is high, but Wx ignores this and will be hit anyway as if it was a rod. 
  • And some loot drops like snurtle and slurtles armor, as well as the hostile flare working or not. 

yeesh that was a lot, but with the horse shoes not sticking around after the event and having their value afterward reduced as well, it will be interesting to see what new ways we can change our luck in the future. Hope this was valuable helpful in some way.
