More Lore questions

1- Just to clarify Is the torch bearer fuleweaver and the cane bearer metheus?

2- When and how was the nightmare throne created? I assume by the portal/tenebrau or nightmare creatures/ancients but how?

3- Did Maxwell create the surface over the "Old" world (or what was left of it)? Maxwell claimed to have plugged the sinkholes, he also claims he hasn't made most of the creatures in the caves. The murals also show the ancients worshiping the moon from the archives which is now in the caves. (BTW ik the ruins are probably not included in this because lore wise they are supposed to be deeper in the caves and the mural shows them digging where the Alter can't see them)

 

I could be wrong on a lot of this I apologize if so I haven't refreshed myself on the lore in a bit

1- The torch-bearer is Metheus, the cane bearer is the fuelweaver.
More or less royalty and important figures in the ancient history. To make it easier they're the king and queen of the ancients. Queen being Metheus, king's name officially unknown as of now other than his boss name The fuelweaver.

A lot doesn't really get this right so you're not the only one. A lot of the ancient lore is by interpretation of what we've seen through murals for a decade and some have been muddled by youtube theory videos as actual confirmed lore taken at face value. Only hints is as far as we've gotten towards who is who and what is what until recently. 

2- The ongoing theory is that it was once one of the ancients throne (likely Metheus') and was corrupted by the shadows. It could also just be a creation of Shrouden (the name the ancients gave it, although described to have many names, Tenebrau for example.) on its own. But there are nothing to point towards any direction of where it came from. 

3- Maxwell in his later throne years liked to take credit of everything he did, his world, his creations. Some of em true, others being his own ego.
Maxwell didn't create the constant or the surface. I don't think he covered the old world, more or less cleaned the surface so his own idea of his own land would look like. For example the archive was hidden away, even Maxwell didn't know it existed until it was revealed through the transformation of the grotto that lead em to it.
