So glad we're still getting updates that majorly impact the early-midgame instead of just rift stuff. The bishop change feels a little gamey if that makes sense. I've felt this way pretty much since from beyond started and especially since host of horrors. Not a huge problem, just a little weird. It also pretty much completely changes their role in the ruins.

The ruins in general seem like they'd become too easy in this update. At least, if you can befriend damaged clockworks with gears, which I think you can(?) And probably shouldn't be able to to be honest. I think klei should consider adding an item that must be equipt to control clockworks, like the new thing from the event, or like the shadow thurible.

Or, here's an idea: actually give WX-78 a skill tree and make taming ordinary and/or broken clockworks cheaply into a perk on said skill tree.

Ruins can't be too simple. They are already too simple.  But the changes in chess are the best thing that has happened in a year...

Я согласен... но да, им нужно что-то делать с уровнем сложности. После этого обновления руины стали намного проще.

+ 50% bishop damage +200% Bishop attack speed -50% armor protection.

Yeah, we're all discussin about how wrong is befriending clockworks with such ease. It will probably get fixed soon. I hope.

An item to be equipped is an idea  UNLESS is an end game item, and I mean end-game end-game, like Rifts stuff. Then it can works in my book.

Other than that 10/10 update.

One question tho.

I agree… but yeah they need to do something about the difficulty. This update made the ruins way easier.

Are you pointing "Ruins are easier" because only for the befriending mechanic? Or for others points? Because other than that, the reworks of all three clockworks are far more than excellent, even balanced! Yes! Balanced! And if it's me, from all the people, who is saying this, it means for certain there are no other errors right now.

If you ignore the new gears mechanic, Ruins are not easier at all.

I can't think of a better way to kill the fun of this update than to relegate its most interesting feature/addition to yet another member of the "play this for two seconds before you reroll and start a new world" pile of additions.

Exactly. It's an option. It is not the solution. There are others ideas/solutions. On my post I listed them all for now. Also remember carefully!! We're talking about befriending them immediately for the new mechanic through an item. You're stating about this "interesting feature/addition" being relegated to the end when broken clockworks will still exist. Therefore it's wrong that this will be even relegated when A) it's not even a new addition to begin with and B) you still have broken clockworks again, so you can do your clockworks army, for a modest price. Pay attention.

Ruins are also easier thanks to the new bishop attack. It's now reasonable to bring less healing items to ruins clears, and getting a station is now easier in a ruins rush. The clockwork allies help but I bet the clockworks melt to rooks like they normally do. All of this is theoretical since I haven't actually done a ruins clear in the update

Did they change it but it looks like they changed how rooks damage works? It seems to not damage allied clockworks anymore (whichever side the rook is on) also its charge on seems able to do 90 damage at most to mobs instead of the usual 200.

Overall I am glad we have an update that feels like a genuine attempt at fun made to enjoy by the devs. There is no character specific perks or extreme late game measures you have to go through to use the new clockwork features, its all accessible at any point in the game. It also does not suffer from other QOL changes or features at being too niche to properly use (like morning star being charged at moon gleams sounds OP initially, then in actual gameplay its not really mentioned at all and kinda weak)

I really don't want to be rude, but

WHY talk and discuss or even criticize things, to give feedback for fixing errors/mistakes, if you even didn't test it on your hands before???

I'll repeat it again, if we're ignoring the new befriend mechanic, NO. OBJECTIVELY, RUINS ARE NOT EASIER with this update. Rooks CAN'T damage anymore, or melt as you have put it, other clockworks. If you fail or just do some mistakes, the new bishops will HEAVILY PUNISHES you. A lot of SKILLS ARE REQUIRED.

Please. First touch the content, then discuss it, because otherwise you loose all credibility.

Yes, all correct. And I want to add it's not only fun, it's balanced. An insane thing for Klei standards.

Since inception veterans like me wanted better finished revamped clockworks and new people that joined the game too. How else would have become this outcome otherwise? Any fixes to them, would have changed their attacks to be, well....real attacks for Altar sake. Do we really need to go back to spam aim-bot bishops and 10 fps lag rooks??? Really???

So I very intentionally tried to make small criticisms since I hadn't played the update. If you think that tanks my credibility, sure, whatever. I'm not writing some hit piece essay like you seem to be doing every few hours. Chill out.

And by the way, I got time earlier to do a ruins rush. I did it with Wes. It was one of the easiest ruins rushes I've done. You can't even get angry about the right stuff lmao

What are the mistakes? The old Bishops, even with a 100% opportunity to attack the player, lost to the armor.
New ones just won't get in.
All chess became literally helpless against Morning Star... They literally can't even beat a character... And it's not in the rain...
the ruins have objectively become lighter. Although they've been too light for a long time and encouraged players to skip content and progression.

I like the new stuff  thats been added.

Oh btw if you place the princess outfit set on a mannequin it will the gilged knights and they will be hostile... i had that lil sjprise when i wanted to store and display the outfit for easy quick swapping.

Also anyone knows the stats for the gilded knight armor and Lance, would like to know exact  stats etc tho hopefully the info will be added to the scrapbook soon (currently you cant find any info in scrapbook for em even after inspecting but thats probably due to its quite new atm)

Klei never add entries of items from Lunar New Year Events to the scrapbook.
But if their absence had been reported on the bugtracker, they would probably have added these entries. (After a few or more months XD)

As for the lance and armor stats, the lance deals 51 damage and has 200 uses. The armor reduces damage by 90% and has 630 durability.
