Allow switching a world between offline and online mode.

Haven't made a post on Klei forums for ages, but yesterday I got to experience the pleasure of being blocked out from playing on my DST world because no internet connection problem.

And so I come here suggesting this like I did years ago, allow players to swap their world from offline and online and vice-versa at will, it's so horrible of being locked out from either multiplayer or being able to play on your own world when you have no connection.

This can't be so damn hard to do you guys even have skins usable in offline mode for a long time now! At the very least allow when I duplicate a world to make the duplicate offline or online then I can switch that way, it's so damn annoying this is still a problem for so many years it's embarrassing that the game prevents you from being able to play because of what a pointless authenticating thing for skins which already can be used in offline mode?

Let players play on their worlds regardless of their internet connection, goddammit klei

Try the mod Don't Starve Alone. That one may be able to get it done.

Otherwise, look for guides out there on Youtube. It's definitely possible to do, it might just require a bit of tinkering.

Those mods/guides work both ways too, offline → online and back. I had helped people get it done before, and did it myself as well. So there is near 100% certainty that you can.

Except if klei changed something about the game in the meantime.

 

PS if you ever try this then please always make a backup of your stuff first.
