A.P.Erson Posted January 29 Share Posted January 29 Since all the other survivors are eventually going to get some kind of skilltree, here's some silly and probably unbalanced ideas for a Wes skilltree, with an extra gimmick: I'm thinking he would be the ONLY character with access to two different sets of skill wheels, just because. One for Balloonomancy and one for Mime Powers (name not final). You would have to choose which one to fully speck into as you can't really do both. (I don't have an actual planned chart of all the upgrades, these are just bulletin points of what would be in it. Balloonomancy This one would be themed about your bundle of balloons, being able to do crazy stuff and making actual sapient balloon animals and other trickery: Balloon Pig : Summon with 5 sanity, these floating minions would punch bad guys and trees in equal measure, although they still only take one hit and die instantly. For the first 15 punches on trees specifically they manage but after that they will have a 1-5% chance to pop from a splinter, eventually guaranteeing that they pop after only a few trees. Balloon Tentacle : The largest of the balloon animals, they are made of multiple tubes wound together, giving them layers. Summoned with 5 sanity, they can resist 3 total hits from anything, popping a layer each time. They do 5 damage a hit and swing exactly like a tentacle, although they are unable to move. Balloon Dummy : A balloon "mime" that will start doing mime things (you know what) in an attempt to taunt enemies, then will run away from anything that tries to fight the faker. After 5 seconds of running away it gives up and pops, spooking anything nearby. Costs 10 sanity. FINAL SKILL : Wes spends 15 sanity to blow one MASSIVE balloon and then holds onto it as he begins to float into the sky, like that green fellow in the unitard from Legend of Zelda. In this state he cannot eat or interact with anything EXCEPT with his other balloonomancy skills, allowing him to pepper the ground below with balloon pigs or tentacles. Additionally, if he were to drop any mineral based items, such as rocks or flint, they would fall to the ground akin to an earthquake and do damage to anything that is underneath. When you've decided you've had your fun, you can slowly lower yourself down at any time. MIME POWERS This one would be themed around the fact that Wes is a mime and can defy the laws of physics. Similar to the Balloonomancy it will still cost sanity to do so, we ain't having a mime meter here. Pantomime Multitool : Wes uses his magical powers of being a mime to summon a mystical artifact, the mimeitool, a tool that can do practically anything, from chopping trees to mining to shaving beefalo to pretty much anything else. Every time you use it however costs sanity, roughly equating to around 5 sanity a main work task (tree chopping, mining) and 2.5 sanity for any others (shaving, digging stumps). Unequipping it from your hand will immediately make it not exist anymore, and you can only have one out. Invisible Walls : Wes can decide to use his mimery to hold out his hands to mystically summon an invisible wall in the direction you cast your spell. This invisible wall is actually visible to any Wes players and somewhat resembles the shadow prison walls from Maxwell but translucent and less evil looking. Any entities besides players trying to walk past the walls will be blocked, but due to it being invisible will not think to walk around, making them run towards the Wes for as long as the Wes stands there, as if Wes tries to leave then the spell dissipates. MIME CART!!! : Wes can use this ability to get into an invisible go cart and then after a brief moment to start the engine will begin to zoom forward in whatever direction you cast the ability in. When in this state you will continually drive forward, attempting to turn is akin to steering a boat via sails, however with one caveat; attempting to make a sharp enough turn will cause you to spin out for a full few seconds before zooming back to the direction you tried to go in, meaning that in a desperate chase you may get caught out. Also, if Wes rams into an object or the edge of the water he will be knocked forward and briefly stunned. This can and will wash you ashore if you land in the water, so be careful! Also the entire time he is driving he will drain 3 times the hunger and a continuous sanity drain that's around as much as standing next to a spider. FINAL SKILL : Wes loads a pretend shotgun and then prepares to aim, letting you aim like a cannon and fire. He cannot move while aiming. Upon firing, Wes will be knocked several tiles backwards, including over water, and anything standing in front of where he shot will take around 31-61 damage, depending on how close they were in a 1.5 tile cone in the direction of where you shot. The shot will cost 15 sanity and will go into a cooldown of 15 seconds.
