Fire damage is really weird. It flip-flops back and forth between completely overpowered and literally useless based on what you're fighting and when, but it also tends to stay really close to literally useless because it destroys all the loot of an enemy (even non flammables, bishops killed with fire drop only 3 ashes).

Willow doesn't really help anything either as fire damage is incredibly selfish because it will burn other characters attacking Willow's same target, which makes her nearly impossible to play in multiplayer without everyone else playing Walter. Also, Wormwood is entirely impossible to play with Willow, for obvious reasons.

It gets worse too, when fire damage leaks into other aspects of the game, such as electric damage. Electric damage will set fire to plant based enemies such as Treeguards and Birchnutters, which makes WX's Electrocution Circuit basically unusable despite being really fun. (Alas, poor wood farm, I knew you well...)

But as for when it's overpowered, enemies that panic from it, such as BEARGER, but also the majority of non-boss mobs are completely trivialized by anyone playing Willow or using a healthbar mod, because you can simply stop using fire when you see Bearger get to low HP.

You might be thinking "why does this matter, and who cares?" The reason is because A: fire damage's wonkiness makes Willow annoying and/or boring to play, especially when you see fireproof enemies, and B: because Dragonfly's only loot is practically just a cosmetic. Scaled Furnace is fine I guess, but what does it actually do that you can't do without fighting a 2700 HP raid boss? Scalemail's uncontrollable fire damage is less than worthless if you're not Willow, and still worthless if you ARE Willow because you have better ways to ignite enemies and it only has 70% protection. There are plenty of items that should be cool, but use fire and are therefore worthless.

(Basically irrelevant, but point 😄 Moslings summoning lightning bolts that catch other Moslings on fire and destroy the unique loot you're supposed to get from Moose Goose.)

So (to get to an actual solution instead of just complaining) I think that fire's panic needs to be nerfed INTO THE GROUND, and fire's loot destruction needs a serious reconsider. Maybe it could destroy only a percentage of the loot but rounded up, so you always get at least 1 of an enemy's unique drops. (Bishop gives only 1 gear and its purple gem, but the other gear is destroyed, and Beequeen still drops crown but most of the jelly would burn.) Or maybe remove it altogether so fire based griefing becomes harder too, and so that fire doesn't necessitate boring grinding.

TLDR: Fire damage is less than useless except when it's overpowered, it makes Willow boring to play, and it makes a lot of fun items unusable.

I don't really have all the perfect solutions already, but I can recognize that fire damage, in its current form, is all kinds of nonsensical. Maybe other people have the same thoughts but with solutions though, so any thoughts or suggestions?

Important to notice scalemail does not work with willow's perks. So it's not good even for her

If they fix that and make it cheaper it's gonna be decent willow armor. Probably one of the best

I don't know how I managed to type an emoji instead of a "C" but just pretend it's a "C".

C: autocorrects to it. 8) is similarly annoying.

Had to leave a space in between each and remove at the very end because because it's so volatile.
