myxal Posted December 10, 2025 Share Posted December 10, 2025 I never really got into using jet suits (or really, any exosuit) in addition to atmosuits - as in, a long-term solution that doesn't need micromanaging and/or introduce downsides. In the game I'm using a fairly conventional approach - only the boxed base is heat-regulated, so the atmo suits get equipped when heading outside. How do people extend into jet suits for, I dunno, the rocket silo, or space biome? The only times I did use them, it was the basic back-to-back suit docks area for both types that acted as a chokepoint between 2 distinct areas of the map. Is there something I'm missing? What I'd really want is sort of a suit-door permission, or a half-checkpoint configuration that would prevent dupes in the wrong suit from passing through (as the checkpoints do now) but wouldn't make dupes with a matching suit take it off. That way, dupes could take the jet suits to reach jobs that are inaccessible on foot, and still be forced to go back and change into atmosuit when heading back, without forcing everybody to use the jet suit.
