I've always wanted to see these guys in something.

It looks really cool there.

An ancient "mount olympus type" of setpiece and biome for the  mountain would be awesome to see as a ruins counterpart to caves. Could tie in lore about this being origin of the ancients.

Yeah I was saying I really liked how you made it. I really like the variations aswell. The darker ones horn implies a double houndious too 🤔.

Would there be multiple mountains or just one mountain? Cuz if there was only one mountain then there could be a mechanic that once you reach the peak (cuz I assume that reaching the peak would be very challenging as the higher you go the less resources there are, more hostile weather conditions (cold and lack of oxygen) and probably a boss guarding the final level, like a Sasquatch) you'd be able to place/repair a flagpole, signaling that you've conquered the peak and that'd permanently give you +1 sanity regeneration.

If there was only one, main mountain, then maybe there could be a hamlet-like mechanic where the mountain is dividing the level zero of the world into multiple chunks that you can only traverse between by climbing the mountains 1 or maybe even 2 levels and going down a different way than the one you entered.

Idk how realistic it is to mod into the game but maybe mountains' levels would have their own seasons, i.e. levels 0-2 experience rog's seasons, levels 3-5 experience thawing-winter-ice age and levels 6 and above are permanently in ice age

Maybe resources could be spread out and locked int specific mountain levels, i.e. gems are only found in level 3's caves, living logs on level 5 or something like that

I imagine that avalanches would be a mechanic. Probably something akin to meteor showers - dangerous but renews resources (and maybe blocks paths)

Maybe a river source on level 3 that can be encountered on levels 2-0 as waterfalls and bodies of water that can only be crossed by building a bridge/finding a natural bridge

Something that I like about base DST is that almost every resource is renewable.

On the topic of mountains If you have a season of heavy rains or thunderstorms the next season could have landslides that spawn rolling boulders that do dmg based on their speed something like a stone tumbleweed. This would make minerals and gems unique to the mod renewable.

@Milanjorim - There’s still a pretty big gap in game dev between great concept art and implementation, but honestly this already clears half of it.
If you ever pick-up some scripting or mod tools, you’d be in a really strong position to bring ideas like this fully into the game.

I think you'd maybe have a lot of joy bringing some of these things to life, there's a few easy to find places online where people are looking for artists for game dev as not a lot of people like to do their own assets if they're more into building the infrastructure.

Out of curiosity, are you familiar with animation at all - frame-by-frame specifically? I’m currently working with sprites that are 16×24 px; how comfortable are you working at that scale, or do you generally prefer sketching at larger proportions?

the essence of my fan DLC is that I'm not going to make a mod or anything, I just like making concepts because it gives me more space for creativity and makes it possible not to think about how non-existent coders will do it, I have a bunch of very simple ideas for a dst mod, but no one wants to do them and it makes me sad and I've never animated such small sprites, but I can animate.

I've never made a mod for DST so I wouldn't really be able to help, I know theres a good few modders on the forums - it might be worth pitching it with a request? Not sure where that should be though.

Just trial it out, maybe see if someone can teach you some basics and adapt on to it, it might be something you find some enjoyment in? It might not be your thing though, that's fair
