hyoton123
I’m not a huge fan of rain spoilage, but I’m really not a fan of acid rain spoilage. Havent tried an umbralla to see if it works. Triple storage was basically necessary to make it usable later on, so I viewed the changes overall as a downgrade. It has a lot of utility (kelp, turning fish and frog legs to generic meat is usually an improvement), and I have always liked how simple it is to use. But big jerky overall has been kind of power crept and between no bearger bin and being seasonal due to rain (and completely awful in the caves) I’ve stopped using it. I should probably give it another whirl. Both regular, and acid. 2 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/168885-improvement-of-the-drying-rack-for-fish-and-frogs/page/2/#findComment-1844387 Share on other sites

Because it sounds like you think Jerky can't be made into dishes. Just want to put it out there if anyone reading this thread has this misconception. The major reason you'd want to do that is to extend the perish time. With meat now rotting on the rack, that's widely nerfed. You'd be wasting time and space for a marginal benefit. The only other reason is to turn fish into "meat", which would be killed by this thread's suggestion. Edit: Which is conveniently in today's beta. To be perfectly honest, no I did not know that...because why would I try? Why not just cook a raw item in the yellow, get it to green, and throw it in the crock pot instead? Or recycle it for an egg? I can't see a scenario where making jerky and then putting it in a crock pot is ever worth it. With all this said, with the current beta changes it looks like it is now possible to mass-produce salt on the racks if you dry kelp. If that change stays, forget everything I said because the Jerky Rack is now one of my favorite items in the game. However, since you can restore raw ingredient freshness with salt, that's even less reason to make jerky with the rack. AliceShiki
Jerky is a ingredient-efficient way of restoring health and sanity. It's not something particularly impressive for experienced players, but it's definitely appreciated by new players who keep on eating all the Pierogis you make for them and they still need more. Basically, needing 1 meat for healing instead of 1 monster meat + 1 monster meat (that becomes an Egg) + 1 vegetable (probably a mushroom) + 1 filler (probably another mushroom or ice or honey or another egg) to make the Pierogi is very convenient for people who are bad at the game. 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/168885-improvement-of-the-drying-rack-for-fish-and-frogs/page/2/#findComment-1844969 Share on other sites
