Yea it’s pretty broken, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t cross my fingers for broken seeds every time I generate a world

I've started playing on consoles recently, and I have to say, based on the few maps I played on, it seems that caves gen is much better on consoles. Not even super luck ones, but just all arround good, compared to the ones I get on PC. Idk if that's a thing, or if a was just lucky, but all my recent caves on PC were awfully generated

Yeah they're fun. It would be great to have them as a world configuration option, instead of being the standard vanilla.

Setting cave generation to always loop and never branch can more or less create this effect consistently. You can get wacky things like Ancient Guardian spawning right next to a sinkhole, with a cave forest following only for the military biome to be just after that.

I’ve only ever played on console so I genuinely have no idea. Most of my caves have been pretty decent but I’ve seen a lot of really wacky ones in recent updates. Ive been joining friends worlds and I think in 3 or 4 worlds now there was a ruins right next to the sinkhole situation.
