Don't Starve Together Update 3.27 - 10/27/2025 (PlayStation 4)

Hello again everybody!

Hallowed Nights is upon us once again and that means that means treats for you! We have a new animated short, a bunch of free spooky skins and the Hallowed Nights event has been updated as well!

Highlights include:  

• Carvable Pumpkin Heads that can make you less afraid of the dark and other spooks during Hallowed Nights
• Crystal-Crested Buzzards that roam the world after Lunar Hail
• More creature corpses can now mutate into their existing lunar counterparts
• New spawn mechanics and combat behaviour for Inimical Gestalts

Fixes

  • Fixed corpses not persisting between game sessions.
  • Fixed Wendy's generic and reviving status examinations for Dead Birds being swapped.
  • Fixed Otters and Grass gators not having an idle animation when dying in the ocean.
  • Fixed missing visuals in Shadow Merms appear and disappear states.
  • Fixed Shadow Merms being able to attack when they should be disappearing.
  • Fixed a crash during the "A Task Complete" stage play when a Mannequin is playing the role of the Artificer.
  • Fixed Icker's missing unique state examinations when they contain an item or character.
  • Fixed the Dead Gingerbread Varg incorrectly displaying "Dead Varg".
  • Fixed certain issues with an amphibious mob (e.g. Hound) dying on water, and turning invisible when pushed to land.
  • Fixed Permafrost Pengulls being scared of each other.
  • Fixed world generation layout for repeat generations being deviant from world seed.
  • Fixed players going invisible when recoiling from an attack while on a Beefalo.
  • Fixed Horror Hounds not performing their howl sound when initially spawning.
  • Fixed the following sources of Enlightenment not counting as proper mutate spots for creature corpses.
    • Areas within Moonstorms
    • Full Moons when Lunar Rifts are enabled.
    • Tiles occupied by the Lunar Rift.
  • Fixed Maxwell's shadow minions using the incorrect attack recoil animation.
  • Fixed Moonstorms on load not always setting the moon phase style correctly if Celestial Champion was defeated.
  • Fixed the lunacy source from a full moon when lunar rifts are enabled not properly working when a player spawns during it.
  • Fixed Moon Shards and Stone Fruit not being destroyed by other falling earthquake debris.
  • Fixed Woodie's hat not properly protecting against Moon Shards and Stone Fruit when they are falling debris.
  • Fixed Shattered Spider Holes not properly following the day cycle like other Spider Dens.

   

New Skins

A new Trick-or-Treat chest is now available for all players and includes the Webwork Quilt,
Beast Effigy, Webwam, Sarcarrotgus and Web Master T-Shirt skins. Simply log into the game during Hallowed Nights to get yours!

New Login Reward

The “Supercapa-sitter” skin for the Replica Relic Chair is also available as a login reward. 

Twitch Drops!

The “Pyric Core” skin for the Thermal Stone has been added to the Orbital Collection. Check out the post for more details.

Trick-or-Treat!

And finally, all players will receive a second Trick-or-Treat chest containing one random Hallowed Nights costume set. Additionally items from the Hallowed Nights Collection and Costume Collection will have increased drop rates for the duration of the event!

We're continuing on as we head toward the end of the year. As you have seen with this years Hallowed Nights content, we've dipped into a little bit of game content as well. You can expect something similar for Winter's Feast and then we're on to Lunar New Year content.

This is my first time following updates on consoles, so this might be a silly question:

The update was poste here 5 hours ago, but I still can't update my game on the PS5. Is the delay normal?

Typically no. This update was live for me as soon as it was posted here and on Klei’s Discord. Have you tried manually updating the game or checking if it’s the latest version?

Yup, just says the game is up to date. I'll try tomorrow. Maybe it's a pan server thing, idk. I'm in south America, so maybe it's taking longer to get down here, have no idea

Its just the ps5 version if you play the ps4 version it'll have the update might have to do with it being register as 2 different games since each version has its own trophies

After waxing the pumpkin head, the waxing effect will disappear when you log back into the game.

Constantly stuck in an endless loading loop. Ps4 works fine other than my saved worlds aren't transferring.
