Add a miniboss or something that you have to fight while walking across those suspended stones. Some of the stones could be thulecite pillars, which don't break when jumped off of. The miniboss would inversely be able to make certain spots unusable with their attack (strangely, it'd probably be better without a melee). I think it'd be very fun and unique ^_^

The idea was that you can attack the boss if you're horizontally or vertically aligned with it, but it doesn't attack with a melee, since that would be a bit annoying. Something like selecting a set of tiles in a pattern to attack after a delay, or to render them hazardous for a few seconds.

The idea you are suggesting is something like turn-based combat, where attacking counts as move, sort of like Void Stranger. That would be pretty fun, I admit, but maybe it's just because I'm biased to that game lol
