myxal
Can we get liquids split up into smaller, more manageable (sub-)categories? Late game it's getting a bit ridiculous trying to gather all water-based liquids from a flat list of ~30-something liquids which includes everything I encountered, from condensed gases to molten metals, in seemingly no particular order (probably ordered by internal material name). If at all possible the groups don't need to (and shouldn't be) mutually exclusive (a liquid may appear in multiple categories) I propose: Water-based: (brine, saltwater, water, p-water, sap, resin, nectar, maybe brackene; might make sense not include the latter half, or make a separate category for liquids compatible with desalinator/water sieve) Combustible: (petroleum, ethanol, maybe biodiesel, methane) Lubricants: (Crude Oil, Phyto Oil) Hydrocarbons: (crude oil, petroleum, naphtha, viscogel - anything that burns into sour gas - possibly also bio-alternatives from FPP, or maybe have a separate category for those) Condensed gases: (anything that reversibly condenses from/boils to a gas at room temp - oxygen, chlorine, CO2...) Rare: (visco-gel, super-coolant) Molten metals (self-explanatory) Molten minerals (magma, glass, phosphorus, sulfur ... ) Waste/Toxic: (nuclear waste, gunk, p-water) Nutrients: (sucrose, nectar, sulfur, brackene, possibly ethanol, chlorine and saltwater) Edited September 8, 2025 by myxal 2 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/167897-better-liquid-categories/ Share on other sites
Bzhydack
This will be good for gases too. Break Unbreathable Gas Category into few smaller categories. For example: - Fuel Gas (Natural Gas, Hydrogen) - Sterile Gas (Chlorine, CO2, Steam, Gaseus Phosphorus) - Gaseus Consumable (Sulfur, Sucrose, Salt) - Gaseus Metals - Gaseus Minerals (Rock Gas, Sour Gas) 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/167897-better-liquid-categories/#findComment-1835090 Share on other sites
