just feed it some junk like twigs, grass, lightbulbs or petals a few times right after you get off, it won't shake it off in that case, imo getting a feel for riding time and how much you got to feed is the fun part of beef taming, if you're off beef for prolonged periods of time you can just feed steamed twigs to be safe

theres a math formula for calculating

mount it and time how long it takes to be bucked off, then subtract 15 seconds and divide by 225.

It's dying from getting randomly tossed that kills me. I almost never use beefalo (except for travel) for this reason.

That one bad rng timing erasing all my work is never an acceptable risk.

Why I'll never play wolf gang. Lost multiple runs cause he needs to stop and play an animation mid combat.

As someone who has tamed beefalos, I like the idea of a warning when your beefalo is about to buck your saddle off. It’s more annoying than challenging as I usually used 2 saddles to domesticate a beefalo as I can’t always predict when it’ll shake off.

I think an agitated look on the beefalo when the beefalo crosses the point of bucking the saddle while riding or off it would work well as you’ll be rewarded for paying attention to your beefalo. The player warning works well as well.

I don't feel this is necessary, and you can use a mod on PC right? Being able to feed a beefalo while mounted has already significantly simplified taming.

Feed it, mount. Sit somewhere until you get bucked. You now know your limit in case you decide to go somewhere dangerous, otherwise don't go somewhere dangerous with a untamed beef if you're not experienced enough
