Tired of lossing hours of progress by server crashing

Since I started to play months ago this problem has been present, server crashes, hours of progress lost, I have read some posts and some people say 'play in private servers', if you have a private server and a big group of friends, good for you, but not everyone (or I would like to say 99% of players) dont have that luck or resources, so klei official servers are the best option to play with a big group of people, which is what this game is about, but apart from the 'natural' server crashes, there are bots joining and crashing the servers, pretty sure its easy to know how they do in the server logs and fixed it but in all these months it seems like klei doesnt care to fix this and the 'natural'  crashs, Klei should make a statement about this, I saw in a post they previously didnt care in fix a security problem with mods accessing external resources and the guy reporting it got 'hand-waved', so they also dont care about this? I would like to compare this game to Rust, when you lose your progress in Rust its because you do mistakes or get rushed, you dont lose your progress because the server crashed and now you have to start again or some guy with bots god knows how decides to crash the server, if Klei really dont care about pls someone tells me so i cant stop playing this game, I really like it, been a fan since I discover it in 2014, shipwrecked is my favorite dlc and the experience discovering the world was the most fun thing ever, now that fun is gone because already seen it all but that doesnt make it boring because now when I join to play its to do runs 'completing' the game with people, but if this is not going to change, I’m done wasting energy on trying to have fun in this game

I think you didnt read the post but whatever, lets see how many players are RIGHT NOW at the community servers compared to official ones

All those servers or they have a high ping or when you join its a mod game or you cant because its a reserved spot or the game version its not the same as the server one, and you cant know that because their title is intangible, probably because they are in another continent and if its then the ping will make it unplayable, only 1 has low ping and you know its not a mod game and thats the klei one

  

Same as before, ping too high, intangible title implies another continent, it will unplayable, to the exception of the klei ones, in my case the ping show its not always reliable and west, east servers have low ping to me

Same as before again, the only difference its that there is a Meow Together server, I have already played on their servers, I am even in the discord, and I have too say they are the best, the problem is that they have low traffic, played like 150 days on it but almost all the time alone, their servers don't crash so they persist and maybe because of the same reason that they have low traffic no one tries to force a regen by joining and dying like in klei ones, I am surprised one has 6 players on it, a nice surprise, but in my experience I doubt there will be joining more people 

And in the last options, you can see a lot of passworded servers, with intangible title / high ping anyway, one with low ping its a The Forge server and the other one its 'The Constant Descent', which i joined to make my point and to my surprise it was a nice server with everything I was asking for, the owner does backups so no progress is lost, but it has low capacity, max 6 players, thats the resources problem I was talking about

So yeah the community server exists and you can play on them, but you will be lucky if you find servers with a lot of people, and even luckier if people join after autumn on them, which is why they cant be compared to klei ones on that

Wow didn't knew that config was replacing the name of the servers, in any case it doesn't matter, as I guess it they were server in another continent, Chinese and Japanese, ping is too high

There are literally no good servers to play on in NA that is active and is dedicated.

All the good community servers are in Foreign countries, EU has some decent ones that I play on sometimes, (Mostly harmless, Mighty Beard)

of course it's not ideal playing on 150+ ping though.

NA’s biggest community server is called dst survivor group

EU’s community server is called meow server

FYI, the later one is more active and well-moderated, but sometimes the server lag a lot. 
Btw, 150ping is totally playable, u just need to get used to the latency, and can’t pull off some crazy move like animation canceling 

The meow server is so well moderated that I even play it with 250 ping.

You are welcome to join my server, it's in the last screenshot with 197 ping and is unmodded and has – during European day time – a daily average of 10 to 12 players.

Sidenote: try checking your ping on the server itself by the way, not all pings are accurate from this list.
