Hello,

So recently I was thinking, why not to make base in the caves, but I came out with conclusion that at the and of the day I would still need to spend lot of time outside the caves to gather season locked features, gather ice, kill some mactusks, kill deerclops and klaus during winter, hunt down some moose gooses, find new volt goat on the desert hunt during spring, and during summer well, just kill antlion I guess and spend the rest of that season in the caves actually, but still the fact is there is so much stuff that varies during different seasons outside of the caves, but caves themselves don't have any of those specific features, and I think there is a lot of potential that can be added to the caves that would make them interesting to roam during different seasons. Because why would i go to the caves in winter while there might be raining and i need to wear some warm hat to not freeze while the moist meter is rising, and there are much more interesting things going on outside, I just gonna wait for other season to go to the caves, so here are some ideas that would make caves more interesting and unique seasonal wise.

Winter

During winter in the caves I would get rid of rain, cause like I mentioned, it is better to wear warm hat and while on our head there is a hat already we have to keep a lamp on our hand so we don't die in the dark which also rules out holding umbrella, As a second season players encounter I think this season should be mostly peaceful but still challenging. While rain is absent I was thinking that other feature could occur, Ice pillars and ice stalactites. So they would form during winter and when near them they would prevent any debris falling during earthquake, but instead some of the ice stalactites would fall on the player similar to boulders.

But additionally around the caves some of the floor would also be frozen and will become slippery, mostly moody, grass and wilds biomes to make things more challenging. But in addition a new version of mob would start spawning around those ice formations, caves don't have any pengulls so here's my idea, Arctic Batilisk, they act similar to ist's usual counterpart exept, they are more tanky and their screem makes players lose some sanity. They won't drop any special new loot but rather already existing one They won't drop any special new loot but rather already existing one, the Bunny Puff. I always found it annoying to farm due to bunnies escaping and wasting time if we don't set up any special farm prier. It would make stuff like Fur Roll more available but also this stuff would be used for my new recipe idea or also rather pre existing one, Cowl from don't starve hamlet with slightly changed crafting recipe. So it would work similar to moggles but with the sonar, just like in hamlet, but this one will also provide some freezing resistance, making it ideal for traveling through caves during winter.

Spring

Now during spring season cave rains would return but to accompany them there would also be some waterfalls that would crate pounds, that would act similar to Antlion sinkholes except wet. That's not all those pounds would be home for the new features, some mushrooms would grow out in those pounds for player to collect.

And what are those purple mushrooms you ask, well not only those pounds would spawn regular mushrooms but also some Toadstoolet Caps would also show up. Toadstoolet would be toadstools little cousins, and for us new enemies, they would attack if you decided to step in to the pound. Their attacks consists of jumping in to the player like Ancient guardian or Hippopotamoose(from hamlet), douring the impact some of the boom shorooms would grow so the players would need to take caoutin, while the smaller ones would try staying away from the player and act Sporecap, buffing bigger ones and giving them resistance until players aither scare them away(they would try to make some distance and won't engage themself in to the fight) or be killed. Also around these poundst Stool frog would spawn, they would act like regular frog except their tongue would be longer making them harder do doge, but from time to time they would send small toadstools spore cloud, and that would be a great moment to attack.

the toadstoolets would drop shroom tree mycelium, which means we would be able to plant those on the one of the 4 shroom floors, red, green, blue and lunar and after few days grow mushroom tree based on one out of those 4 colours. It always bugged me that there was no possible way of replanting the trees and having a way to plant some of those would be amazing. And also I think those toads could have some chance of dropping the napsacks themselves, having them being locked up behind the most tanky boss in the game is annoying while there are so many alterntives to put mobs to sleep.

Summer

I was thinking what would make summer stand out, but at the and I decided to leave it as a way for the players to avoid summer outside of the caves, but now since all previous seasons have someting special why not summer, and then It came if there are all of those seasonal bosses outside why not to add one to the caves, and I think adding one of the unused features would be fitting for the role, I mean Grotto Mowlth.

Grotto Mowlth will be the seasonal boss of the caves It presents will be market with all of the Grotto Grubs spawning around the caves eating all grass, twigs, Cave Lichen, bananas, berries and Light Bulbs, making them very annoying until dealt with, by just killing them(they drop some silk or honey) or killing theyre mother. To find mother you'll need to look around the caves and play hot and cold by finding the Grotto Grub eggs, the more you see the closer you are. The Grotto Mowlth will choose some of the few spawn spots around the caves as its hive, around it you'll find Grotto Bug Lamps surrounding the boss spawn area and the boss itself. From the boss itself you'll get its beak that that would allow players to build sprinklers that would water the crops(fully) in its range once per day, or get rid of any flames(until) until water runs out it will refill itself automaticly next day. But from the eggs players would get sleeping Grotto Grub, after feeding it honey keeping it warm while it changes form the caterpillar to a moth you'll get the friendly Grotto Mowlth, basically players would be able to create their own personal flying army.

so yeah that's all for now, what do you think about those features, share ideas in the comment I'll be happy to read them and thank you for your time.
