First to say last hotfix was the higlight of my week so far, and after sawing we are also getting a buzzard mutation i am excited that release changes will be even better, genuenly it made my day.

Only thing i think needs to be tackled respect said hotfix is the fact that bright beaked birds spoil on birdcages(havent tested but as it was not listed on the changes i am imagining it is still the case).

Without bundling the birds after feeding them you are force to check on them regularly every 16 minutes, of course if you are near your bird sanctuary building or farming there is nothing to worry about, but what about when you go to the ocean? to kill and farm cc ? the ruins ?. There will be long periods of time when the birds will be left unatended and you will have to bundle them, this efectevely means that you can only reliably use them to mass farm brilliance if you know you will stay on the same general area for VERY LONG periods of time, which is really dificult to plan far ahead, on top of that adding to the cost of that brilliance A LOT OF ROPE, more than it already cost taking into account the bundling of shards.

I think the bright beaked birds been inmortal on birdcages wouldnt be game breaking, for its intended propuses you will still get brilliance at the same rate, it will only remove an unnecesary keep up cost of rope. And it would kept consistance with the rest of mutated mobs theme, reanimated bodies that dont eat or sleep.

I genuenly think this aspect is what is keeping the birds to be a fully perfect implementation and hope it can be looked into before the release

I still don't like that birds die in the cage, seems to be a leftover mechanic from the old days of the game where everything needed a downside. It's just a waste of time to have to keep recapturing them the few times we need them, let alone if we want birdcages as decorations. I wish Klei would give us this cookie and let captured birds not die in the cages

the best mod ever (makes birds not starve and can be fed while sleeping, aka how birdcages worked in ds solo): https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1937698580

You must be new to Don't starve because if you weren't you'd already know that Klei's favorite resource to spend in everything is grass. everything must use grass. All praise the non-renewable grass tuffs!.
