Y0sH Posted July 11, 2025 Share Posted July 11, 2025 For the last few days I've and many people that have played on the pubs have been experiencing the "Server Shutting Down" message and it counting down and eventually disconnecting. I have gotten this 12 times in the last 3 days exclusively on the Eastern Klei Public Servers. I don't know if this is yet again some exploit but there hasn't been any posted updates that would justify these shutdowns? oregu Posted July 11, 2025 Share Posted July 11, 2025 Klei servers reset each time there's an update. So it's probably an undocumented patch? Every time it happens, I have to verify the integrity of my game files otherwise I can't play on servers. konijnenmoed Posted July 12, 2025 Share Posted July 12, 2025 As far as I know, they use some sort of "scaling" for their servers, and when one gets overloaded it moves priority to another. This means your server shuts down to prioritise another. This has once been explained on this forum by a dev, but I'm not sure how to find it. I'll try to search and share it. KeshS Posted July 19, 2025 Share Posted July 19, 2025 The servers just deteriorate with every passing month. I've had multiple instances where a single rollback would just make the server completely unresponsive. Even a simple vote for regen would boot out everyone from the server and make it hanging not allowing anyone to join. It's not the intended design and those tools just make the situation even worse and harmful.
