Although this item corresponds to Bone Helm, the pain it brings to people is really beyond the reach of Bone Helm. It is like narcotics. You can feel pleasure when using it in daily life (infinite light source, infinite Sanity, infinite Minor Gestalt to help), but it will also cause damage to the body. When clicking on a box, Crock Pot or picking up an object, or using AOE attack or Non-targeted attack, you may accidentally hurt the Inimical Gestalt and be killed instantly. In comparison, although Bone Helm has a smaller effect, it will not make players addicted to it, and it will hardly have any negative impact on players. It is also very easy to obtain, and I have never had any resentment towards it. Speaking of instant kills, when I obtained this upgraded version of Enlightened Crown, I was also killed instantly by Celestial Scion. It is really outrageous that seven fully armed players cannot defeat the boss together. Its drops can still continue to contribute to the cause of killing players after its death. It's actually fairly common in survival games that dying results in a cascade of death when trying to corpse run, especially if going straight back. I could list so many games where that happened to me countless times. Even if I know I shouldn't just rush back to my corpse, I still get impatient and do that mistake, and it can quickly get very annoying and tilting. I can tell you I died to those gestalts too, no later than yesterday. I was riding my beefalo in spring, with the nightmare saddle and everything. It was raining, I was wearing the eyebrella, etc. There was this 1 inimical gestalt and I thought I'd just quickly dispose of it on my beefalo. Free pure brillance. But then moonstorms were also active and I got hit by 2 normal gestalts and immediately fell asleep and fell off of my beefalo. I wasn't wearing any armor, and I got 1-shotted by the inimical gestalt. I honestly smiled and thought this was amazing. It made -me- happy. I had just been reminded that the world -did- become a more dangerous place after engaging in a long series of quests and battles that led to lunar forces unleashing those very powerful gestalts. I was cocky, wasn't wearing armor, wasn't paying attention to the fact that I could be put to sleep by any random gestalt, etc. Fault was mine, lesson (re)-learned. It might not be a popular opinion, but it is a valid one and I would be surprised if I was the only one out there who feels that way. Hard to say, forums are a very small fraction of the player base. In fact, when I was killed by the Inimical Gestalt for the first time, I also temporarily buried my frustration of being killed because of the joy of discovering new things. But that was only the first time. Now this creature only makes me angry. There is no benefit or fun in fighting them. They wander around me all day long and make demonstrations to me from time to time. This feeling is like a group of people pointing guns at my head. As long as my behavior is slightly not in line with their wishes, they will kill me immediately. This feeling of having my life in the hands of others and my neck being strangled by others makes me very! Very! Very! Angry. To be honest, if the Inimical Gestalt's attack is not a terrifying 169 points, which can kill the player in one hit, but the damage is between 20-50 points like Crawling Horror and Terrorbeak, which can't kill people in one or two hits, I can actually accept them (it may also be my compromising personality at work), because if I won't be killed, I don't have to bother my teammates to save me every time, and then I have to repeat the troublesome "corpse run", which will make my game experience much better. However, for players who really like to enjoy the hearty battles with monsters in Don't Starve Together, the interference of Inimical Gestalt in the battle makes them hate it. No matter how it is changed, it can't satisfy everyone. I don't know if Klei will organize a vote to let the majority of players decide on the changes to Inimical Gestalt. After all, as I said before, only by satisfying the majority of players can Don't Starve Together have a higher praise rate and attract more new players to buy and play this game. 4 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/166493-the-resentment-from-being-killed-three-times-by-inimical-gestalt-in-the-past-two-days/page/2/#findComment-1823520 Share on other sites

This is kinda lore accurate if it was shadow side, and about ancient civilization, how did they got ruined by shadow. We see all kind of benefit using shadow a little, but after progress deeper and deeper into it, things become more troublesome. Only the king and queen - who gain the most benefit from the highest level can survive it, while commoners instantly ded. Now only players who defeated the boss got to live, while everyone else on server suffers. What if both lunar and shadow are just 2 side of the same coin? They can actually attack whoever they're tracking after spawning (or now since the last patch, after switching who's tracked if their target dies, if there's more players, and if any player is in enlightenment mode), regardless of enlightenment or sanity and which sanity mode is active. The only thing that stops them in this case is using the crown or brightshade helmet, if they're not already aggro'd (in this case, run away until they do, if you have very high enlightenment, they'll take a bit to deaggro assuming you're not letting them start attacks). Also while they're tracking a player, they won't attack anything else (including other players) unless attacked. (for clarification, "tracking" in this context means whoever they spawned for, this tracked player never changes until said player dies or despawns, they also don't necessarily follow this player at all unless aggro'd, they only follow fully upgraded crowns, regardless if equipped or not) On 6/20/2025 at 7:58 AM, Edible Coal said: absolutely not, you can eat sanity food to get ur actual sanity back to full, and once you take off bone helm, they nightmare will dissapear after 3-4 sec Yeah, not only this, Inimical Gestalts can be attacked by anything, including players, at any time, unlike shadow creatures. Players can also accidentally click on them when they're hanging around. They also have an AoE attack that, while it does filter out some entities, it doesn't check if whoever should get hit has attacked them or not, and their normal attack can also hit any player regardless. This AoE attack can literally go off randomly with no aggro, whenever they teleport because a player or their current target is too close, so just being near them even if they're passive risks you getting hit with the AoE attack. Bone Helm is way more safe by a long mile, and it will actually also pacify nearby shadow creatures (unless attacked). There's, way too many differences, and on top of that, targeting and attack logic for Inimical Gestalts has some inconsistencies and unintuitive behavior. 2 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/166493-the-resentment-from-being-killed-three-times-by-inimical-gestalt-in-the-past-two-days/page/2/#findComment-1823727 Share on other sites
