i LOVE terramites in concept, they're very helpful. but, why is the repairing the way that it is? you need to fight warbot and scion to repair them again! currently, they are not very good fights and even if they do improve, it's simply not worth the hassle for a simple robot helper. the apparently unintended method of luring inimcal gestalts into them was perfect! it really was! I have a few ideas:

Bring back the inimcal gestalt method, which would give them a bigger purpose aside from an ally and a unfavorable source of brilliance

Simplify the inimcal gestalt method to simply be any gestalt

Use trapped gestalts on them to repair it

Make the initial cost the same, but future repairs require the same repair kit W.A.R.B.I.S and W.O.B.O.T uses (it IS a wagstaff invention after all)

Refuealable with any other lunar item not listed: like moongleams, brilliance, infused moon glass, etc! (Please not crown shards, though!)

Reminder: the most helpful thing to do to advocate for changes such as this is to like and/or comment!

I think the gyroscopic parts that the terramites drop should be a crafting recipe to make more! Would be a nice scrap sink I think also quite fitting to use Wagstaff's semi-useless bench now that he is gone. :)

Totally agree with the frustration here. Terramites should be a cool utility unit, but right now they feel like more trouble than they're worth, especially having to go through Warbot and Scion just to get them operational again. That loop kills their usability mid-game, where you’d want them most.

The gestalt-based repair ideas are really solid. Captured gestalts or even just any nearby gestalt being “absorbed” into the Terramite could make the process feel more organic and less grindy. It also ties into the lore nicely, since gestalts are already tied to lunar tech and Wagstaff experiments.

Another idea that might bridge both function and immersion is allowing the use of lunar scrap + a specific crafting station (maybe repurpose the old Wagstaff bench like someone mentioned) to rebuild or repair Terramites. That would create a meaningful sink for all the odd lunar items piling up, like infused glass or even excess moongleams. Just not crown shards totally agree there.

Also, it’s worth looking at how utility bots or helper machines are handled in other mod-heavy games. In some survival games I’ve played (and even when helping a friend source parts for a broken-down gardening bot IRL via a handyman website), the best systems are the ones that allow some kind of field repair or modular rebuild. That way the helper stays helpful and doesn't become a resource black hole.

Would love to see the devs revisit this, it has so much potential. Liked the post to help visibility, and encourage others to do the same!
