Think of it like VR headset... except without the VR. 

You put the paper disk into the slot and you would look through it. The paper had photos/pictures embedded on it. The lenses allowed your eyes to focus on two separate images and they would appear 3D to you.

Back in my day, before computers, when dinosaurs roamed the earth, houses where $50k, and your phone number had 7 digits... We would use these viewmasters to view exotic or fictional places in 3D. It was wild. And the novelty wore off after 3 minutes and we would return to watching saturday morning cartoons.

I'm not old enough to feel this old man.. I used to have one of those with a bunch of wildlife scenes on the discs. Jungle, ocean, etc.
