SkunkMaster
I really like the new Pre-histroic DLC, feels how ever it is lacking the infamous ancient Redwood tree. We got the Megafrond, super cool (overgrown Sleet Wheat), could we maybe get a "overgrown arbor tree" version also? Maybe a 20 tile tall tree that requires a special planter, or can only be found wild and while shearable is non-replantable. Maybe akin to the 52B, but 2-3x the size and yields wood rather than isosap. speckle21
not a bad idea, but a few arbor trees absolutely slay in terms of wood production. How would a tree POI be special? The megafronds are special because wheat production is actually NOT their primary function, but their chlorine sink capability. A few of them will mop up the chlorine overflow of most colonies. The wheat production is an incentive to use them rather than the simpler brute force solution of dumping the chlorine into space. Anything special about the ancient tree? If its for maps that don't have arbor trees, then i would suggest creating a more distinctive wood source. In the frosty planet pack that would be the floxes. Replacing a tree with another tree that does the same thing as a tree is a bit redundant. I do like the ancient tree though, maybe if it produced uranium? 2 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/166218-ancient-redwood-tree/#findComment-1820485 Share on other sites

Quite interesting POW. I think that their production rate is quite good considering that they dont require hard temperature control like wheat does Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/166218-ancient-redwood-tree/#findComment-1820490 Share on other sites

How would a tree POI be special? Could be that you needed phyto oil to feed it ? it could have growth stages that put out more wood the further you grow out the tree, each stage requires more phyto oil to reach. It would be luxury tree, not quite as productive as arbor, atleast not before you grow it big enough, and putting out insane amounts of decor.
