Touching upon my previous thread with high pressure systems this is another cool process being used today.

By injecting supercritical CO2 (high temperature, and high pressure) deep into Basalt rocks it binds with the minerals in the stone and becomes a carbonate. Effectively turning it into stone.

This creates some interesting minerals calcium carbonate (limestone) being the most common.
