I remember when BBP was on beta people complained that there weren't enough options for bionic lubricant beyond the early game gear balm and crude oil (phyto oil was hard to make sustainable) and people suggested things like brackwax as late game lubricants.

I thought biodiesel was meant to be an upgrade to phyto oil to give the same morale bonus as crude oil since not all planets have crude oil. Now that it can't be used as a lubricant I don't see a use for biodiesel beyond blasting demolior quickly since it's actually pretty bad for power, at least much worse than arbor trees and negative on water.

If they want it to be a full replacement for petroleum I think they need to commit to it and allow it to be used in rocket engines and maybe plastic. It's a very niche material at the moment.

Why use Biodiesel when you can use Phyto oil which is required for biodiesel anyway. It's a duplicate. :)
