Since it currently requires 7 shards, i.e 3 Celestial Champion, I think we should bring that number down to two. It seems clear that we’ll need 7 Bugnets - one for the boss and six for the drones -. That’s why I suggest having Wagstaff give us one. As shown in the trailer, it looks like he used the shard we gave him to craft the Bugnet. He could hand it to us when introducing the quest and say something like:

“Here, use this to capture a creature that stores lunar energy.”

Everyone is a lot of people. For me, it's relatively easy to fight CC 2 or 3 times in a row alone. The only boss you can face without having to wait X days to respawn. A boss that you can die and he just stands there waiting for you. If I have to kill him once because of the crown, I'll kill him twice and be done with it.

 

CC farming is already something natural for me for these reasons:

I'm not sure what you're suggesting. If you mean they should've just added some more rift bosses instead of a final boss, the main point of this update is to be a conclusion (also the lunar rifts really need some more non-boss mobs/enemies).

This way, they can then add whatever without worrying about whether or not it has story relevance. 

It just kind of seems like a weird spot to really end it. 
The only thing i can really think of them doing to salvage this is that The experiment fails and causes more leakage of brilliance. Its not really a thing of us winning the fight but more that the lunar expands more. Thus causing literally rifts 2
