Did anyone else notice that the W.A.R.B.O.T. actually looks a lot like a larger and more successful brother of the W.O.B.O.T.?

Perhaps it was supposed to be foreshadowing all this time. Maybe Wagstaff built the W.O.B.O.T. as a smaller model prototype for the real thing, and that's why he discarded it. It has the antenna, the three legs, and also when W.O.B.O.T. picks an up an item, the animation is actually quite similar to the W.A.R.B.O.T.'s basic attack.

Or did everyone else already figure this out and I'm just late

I did notice it pretty much right away. But I think it's really neat that Klei puts these little callbacks in their designs. Like how the theme that plays during the Restrained Static experiment (well, not that you can really hear it in-game, but it's there) shows up in the CC phase 3 theme, or how the rockjaw's call is used as a backbone for the Frostjaw theme.
