quite a few of the electric items in the game rely on wetness and right now i think the only ways to get enemies wet is by throwing water balloons or praying for rain

the former is a pain since mosquitos are annoying and the latter is fully just waiting for rng since i dont think theres a way to have rain on command

so maybe have it so the strident trident, the main ocean specific weapon dropped from one of two ocean specific bosses, makes enemies wet?

on sea it summons geysers when you right click, so maybe have it so right clicking on land throws it and makes enemies wet on hit for a little while

idk itd make this thing have any use and make fighting crab king more appealing

This post kinda misses how insanely outdated and complicated the wetness mechanic is currently

iirc enemies don’t have their own wetness meter they just copy the world wetness

this is why water balloons don’t actually make enemies wet or anything, the only way is rain

the only exception to this is dragonfly who has their own wetness meter just like the player, thus water balloons work against them

while this idea is quite neat it would require a complete rework to how wetness curently works in dst

oh well thats a little sad, i hope they can fix that eventually in a future update, itd at least make sense if waterballoons would make enemies wet

Yeah, it's ridiculous that mobs that are literally in the ocean don't get wet. That said, when Wetness was implemented the only way to get wet was through rain, so I can't blame the developers.

I heard a saying that they were all wet, but then people started using morning star on them, and then they aren't
