The turf raiser helm does not fulfill it's snazzy pitchfork replacement very well.

400 uses on the turf raiser is not enough for basebuilding. A whole biome in default settings takes around 8 to 10 turf raisers. In comparison, the snazzy pitchfork has 800 uses, and it's a way cheaper alternative that doesn't require to trade with or kill the antlion.

I know the turf raiser can place turfs, but in my opinion, I don't see a reason to use this item unless you're on a beefalo, because putting turf on the ground also takes 0 seconds.

I'm asking for a change, whether it's putting the durability to 800 or making it repairable with desert stones.

the point isn't durability, the point is turf raiser is way faster than conventional forking.

Also why is crafting new ones a bad thing? There's nothing to make with beefalo hair beyond the first winter.

because I've used a lot of pig skin in the early stages of the game, and I didn't make a farm, so now it costs way to much pig skin to use this thing. I have to constantly wait for full moons to farm pig skins and I've been using it all on this item. It would help a lot if I could repair it with desert stones or a sewing kit because it's been eating my pig skin really fast.

it would be better if you put off working on turfing until you've shored up on your pig houses. you are going to just play a losing game if you don't give yourself enough room to properly manage your resources

even when I had the resources I felt like this item consumes too much durability. I had to make 8 at some point, carried them all with me and they all expired, that's like almost a whole stack of pig skin and desert stone already. Would be great if we could repair it simply.

I don't care about resources. It's not like I don't know that I can farm pig skins. It's about the fundamental fact that this item has too little durability.

Then make a farm or just kill were pigs

why are you giving me solutions I mentioned hasn't really helped much. I don't think an item like this should be so costly when it expires so fast like this. Would be cool if the durability of the item was higher or if I could use more desert stones rather than pig skin and beefalo wool to use this thing, since I have a very high amount of desert stones and they're rarely used for anything.
