Stupid newbie question on Ice Storage

Recommended Posts

Hi All:

I've had the game for a few years, but never played it very much.  I'm just starting to get into it more lately and am progressing fairly well toward the mid game.  I did look up some techniques online for more difficult tasks like producing oxygen between algae and breaking down water into hydrogen and oxygen.  One of the things I saw was an early version of cooling involving storing fairly small amounts of Ice in storage bins and putting them in a water tank to let the ice melt and cool the water.  My problem is that when I open the bin to click on the specifics I want to store there is no option for ice (or polluted ice).  Looking more closely at the video referenced above, I notice that they selected the heading "Liquifiables (spelling)" in the selection menu.  That's not an option for me.  The storage bin menu seems to be alphabetical and goes directly from Industrial Ingredients to Medicine with no Liquifiables between them.  Anyone have an explanation (and solution) to this?

The storage bin will only show things you already had or seen. There is also a filter at the top of the selections. You can use it to search materials.

If there are none of them you can choose, you probably never seen one before. But if you are pretty confident that you already have them, you may need to fire a bug report with your save file.

Have you gathered any of the material yet?

This...

Store clean ice and snow early game near food in a co2 environment for a nice food cooler.

Only need a small floor space with a few insulation tiles or abyssalite hole.

Line with few blocks to keep food storage out of any water.

Put a manual pump for the occasional fresh water melt in the kitchen.

Just a suggestion for the fast manual start setup.
