Walrusst Posted March 20, 2025 Share Posted March 20, 2025 When it comes to a lunar mod, I was thinking of a blooming flower band that adds a few low damage short ranged planar flower petals that do 2-3 planar damage when you shoot but fade out at range. It being an early mid range to CQC encouraging band. (These flower petals don't stun.) Rounds made of nightmare fuel/pure horror release the fewest petals, where as rounds that are lunar or pure physical damage release the most. The lunar damage buff ammo (I always forget which, I rarely play rifts,) would likely have reduced effectiveness on the flower petals, but the petals are still intended to have a strong synergy with the lunar damage buff rounds that encourages you to learn to let go of the shadows. Like, imagine a pair of lunar butterfly wing bands with a big flower in the middle as your slings pouch pouch. Since we can try to force walter to fight at closer ranges with barriers and stuff right? But we could also just make it optimal for him to come closer and take risks sometimes and get a similar effect. If he kills things faster up close it gives him a natural gradient where high performance walters take the risks without having forced mechanics that make it so you have to get close. HopelessBot Posted March 20, 2025 Share Posted March 20, 2025 What bugs me is that we have a shadow set bonus with the shadow head gear but we got nothing for lunar. Late game i like to pick the lunar side and i feel something is missing and its werid that there's no item that has synergy with brightshade helmet. A lowish damage risky upgrade in the early game that shines later on with the brightshade helmet and using all of walters synergies, since lune blossoms and butterflies are available really early. Think about it like this: Shadow walter gets his power spike early with the pig due to access to rifts mats then and there (like pure horror, dreadstone.) Lunar walter gets a cqc kiting damage bonus early from a band that works with most ammo types, its not very impactful pre rifts, but its there.
