HeatAndRun Posted March 7, 2025 Share Posted March 7, 2025 Let's start off with the Imbued Swarm. Imbued Swarm - For now, Imbued Swarm boss fight feels a wee bit monotonous. Just spamming poison all around with his 3 giant Wollusks. What makes this boss fight less inspiring is the existence of Poison Resistance Gems. With only 2 maxed Poison Gems the Imbued Swarm is pretty similar to regular Swarm but hitting a little harder. And the Giant Wollusks becomes just a giant punching bag at this point. But without those specific gems the fight becomes much more tricky, and feel somewhat.. Unfair? I'm not saying nerfing the poison gems. The poison gems are quite fine to me as we already have wind resistance gears and gems that works similarly in Nocturne Grove. What that needs to be changed is the boss fight itself. More variaty will surely make this fight better. What can I suggest are things like this : Now Imbued Swarm summons different kinds of minions, instead of Wollusks only. Solo-wise : Phase 1 (75% HP) : Giant Imbued Wollusk that we can see in current boss fight. Phase 2 (50% HP) : 3 Giant Imbued Gloops - Several poison pools will be made when they jump into the player. Phase 3 (25% HP) : Giant Floracrane - The floracrane shoots multiple poison pools around when performing the spinning and diving attacks. But spitting poison should have something more than that. Otherwise it won't be dangerous at all for players with 2 poison resistance gems, while other players without those gems might be really annoyed by the poison. So I suggest to add some unique pattern to the Imbued Swarm : Now Imbued Swarm will occasionally perform the "Poison Geiser" attack while he's in the back stage. I thought it feels kinda weird when Swarm does nothing but playing his rock music while his minions are fighting. The "Geiser" is of course the Crab King reference in DST - The geiser attack could hurts the players upon the designated poison pools, and the poison pools disappear after the geiser. In this way the poison mechanism can become actually deadly even to players with poison resistance gems and give more space to stand for players without those gems. Parry - For QoL perspective, I think it would be great to see remaining critical buff timer at the corner of the screen (Player UI), like how every other timer-related powers do. Right there. other skills have some informations like remaining shots or critical chances, so it would be great for Enigmox weapons, too. Luck for Healing Bonus - Now the game shows you when you receive additional heal due to your luck stat. But I suddenly realized that the lucky bonus heal only works for very limited kinds of heal such as free samples from the shop. What if the lucky bonus heal applies to all the other kinds of heals, like Drinking Potions, Skills, or Powers? The luck stat would become more preferable stat to bring with. Brief Window for Potion Heal Sharing It's a common knowledge that you can share your potion with your teammates. But it's not available in every multiplayer experiences possibly because of communication problem or hastiness. But in my experience, potion sharing often fails due to network latency in multiplayer. If your ping is high in multiplayer, you can still miss the healing share even if you approached to other players right before they drink their potions in your screen. In this case you didn't enter the healing share area on the other player's screen. And it feels... Not good, of course. So I suggest to introduce brief window for healing share - including potion drinking, or Gourdo's Community Garden. Only 0.5 seconds of healing area remaining would be enough to things feels better in multiplayer even with higher network latency. Originally I think I saw @ADM suggested this idea before. Luck already applies to every form of healing - even revives and healshare - Since its a base 1% chance for all luck effects, smaller infrequent events like this you just wont notice without a luck booster. There is also the possibility that you heal to full HP, which prevents a lucky heal from occurring at all. I honestly felt the same way about the imbued swarm fight, so hopefully they actually change it. having the giant Wollusks every time does feel kinda lame.
