An Idea Gathering Post: What items do you think can be "recycled"?

Recommended Posts

OK, I'd like to talk about a certain delightful trend I've noticed in this post. In recent updates, some of the "lesser known" items have made a "comeback" with the appearance of character skill trees. For example, Night Light used to be a rarely used item that very few people would use it (in fact a friend of mine complained to me about the implausibility of it being extinguished by snowball extinguisher), however with the update to Winnona's skill tree, Night Light plays an important role in her resurrection skill now.
A similar situation occurs in Wendy's skill tree, where Moon Dial can transform Lunar Abigail into her Gestalt Form,  though I don't like this skill, I still appreciate the thoughts hidden behind it; the designs above vaguely reveal that Klei seems to intentionally increase the use of lesser-used items by combining them with skill trees. These efforts to utilize resources efficiently are admirable.
So, to get back to the point, my question is: what are  the lesser-used items that you think could be "recycled" in combination with future skill tree updates, either because there are better alternatives after the updates or because they have very little use so far?And whose skill tree you think it/they should be combined with? And why would you think so?
In order to narrow down the scope, as well as fit in with the theme of skill trees, I'm going to set a limit here: these items must be Magic/Lunar/Shadow/Ancient related.
For example, I propose The Lazy Deserter, which has very limited use during single-player and is only used to lower Enlightenment on Lunar Islands.

Thanks for your reply, my friend suggested that I should put this post in beta branch instead of general discussion,so I deleted the previous post , I apologize for the inconvenience, I'm replying to you here:

Before Wendy's skill tree was updated, I used to think that she'd have a unique  building/item that made of Yellow Mooneye , since she once said Yellow Gem looked like her mom's eyes. I also hope that Wanda will have a new pocket watch made up of Orange Gem/Mooneye.

I like it when characters have a reason to change their base in a way that looks like it "fits" them. For example, when I play Walter, who gets a sanity boost from trees, I often plant some trees around my fire pit or pitch my portable campfire in the woods, which fits well for a Boy Scout. I don't often play Wendy but I liked seeing pictures of her surrounded by gravestones for similar reasons. I'm curious: now that that skill has been changed to be more expensive, are there still Wendy bases with lots of spirit vessels around? If not, that's a shame.

All this is to say: for WX-78, I would like if they had more interactions with structures, especially those they call family or friends. It would be good to give the rainometer and the thermal measurer some use.

Very good point. I'm quite disappointed with Wilson at the moment. Flavourfully his Alchemy doesn't really make sense as a unique thing. Every character can use the "Alchemy Engine", so why can only one character do Alchemy? A solution to this conundrum is to allow the Alchemy Engine to be upgraded with a set Alchemical recipes from each category (aka one Food/Cloth upgrade, one Rock upgrade, one Gem upgrade). These upgrades would be a Wilson-specific thing, costing a substantial amount of Bear Hair and allowing other players to use his recipes at that Alchemy Engine provided they also spend a little bit of Nightmare Fuel. Wilson suddenly becomes a huge team player, who's worth sticking with as he just does the Alchemy better as his transformations require neither the machine nor any Nightmare Fuel. A large regular supply of Beard Hair is also necessary to apply these upgrades. Again encouraging players to stick with Wilson. I just feel that right now Beard Hair is not valuable at all and just piles up if there's Wilson around.

Excellent point! And no the Spirit Vessel is actually not worth spamming at all unfortunately. It's worth having one built at certain specific boss arenas to make use of the skill (which is a trap otherwise btw as it actually reduces Wendy's dps against most enemies).
