Save Specific Remembered Crafts

Recommended Posts

I don't know the term for it, but the game has a mechanic where you can bind crafts you often use to be on the lefthand side of your screen. These remembered crafts persist across different saves. So if you have one world that you play as Wormwood and you have the living log recipe "remembered," if you turn around and begin playing a different world in which you are Wilson, the now entirely useless living log recipe is still "remembered."

I would prefer if we had a handful of remembered craft tabs that were save specific, and some not. That way, you could keep crafts that you anticipate always using, for example football helmets and gold pickaxes in the "save unspecific" tabs, whereas you could keep more niche/character specific crafts, for example, papyrus for wickerbottom or battle helmets for Wigfrid, inside of the "save specific" tabs.

I feel like most of the variation in the items you would like to have "remembered" comes from which character you are playing. Alternatively, maybe remembered crafts could become "character specific," sorta like skins. So, if I play as Wendy in World A, I would have the same remembered crafts as playing Wendy in World B, but not as Wortox in World C or World A. If you use the spawn portal to change your character in a world, the remembered crafts would accordingly change.

So some of the crafts get replaced with other crafts when playing a different character? I’m asking to make sure I’m understanding this correctly.

I wish for you to be able to have multiple sets of crafts *somehow*. Whether that means tying crafts to each world or to each character or something else, doesn't really matter.

It's probably simpler to make it for each character, so you don't have to repick all of your crafts whenever you enter a public world or something.

So for clarity, how I would like things to work:

You go in a world as Walter, and you choose drying rack, football helmet, and gold round to be on the left because you believe those are useful as Walter. Now, every time you play Walter, in any world, those crafts are the ones on the left.

If you start up a new world as Wendy, you would have no crafts on the left, until you assign them. Maybe you pick cure all potion, shovel, and bug net. You believe that those are useful as Wendy. Now, every time you play Wendy, in any world, those crafts are the ones on the left.

Here is a screenshot from a random DemonRebuilt video of what I mean by these remembered crafts:Screenshot_20250220-230551.png.ff5916c11c037fcdcbdd1cd444a7ee22.png He has apparently chosen dark sword, log suit, board, torch, etc, as his remembered crafts. With my suggestion, these would be specific to Wolfgang. If you played a different character, you would be able to make a different set of remembered crafts.

Am I explaining things well enough or no?

Yeah I understand now. Thanks for explaining it again and that does sound nice.
