Why the new Lock in Woby's inventory is bad!

Recommended Posts

A lot of people IN FORUM does wasked for this, but the way it was implemented was truly bad, right now it is locked to be managed only when getting one skill from one part of the skill tree that requires 3 points in that segment, the problem is Walter skill tree is not build well for a 3 cost for just a basic option like this, people who play only with friends, which probably is not the majority here in forum and have not the problem with stealing now can't viable share their inventory as Maxwell with his chest because the skill is expansive to unlock and getting it means you will not have Slingshot, which is core to the character, or Woby, which was meant to be improved to be viable right now. I suggest to instead make it a core, standard, command for Woby to lock/unlock it as that was straight remove of a basic mechanic that was nice for multiplayer.

I know people who were threatening to quit cause they got tired of woby stealing their farm goods. (One of them genuinely did suffer a lot of lag. So they couldn't pick a hammered large vegetable or sticks from the twiggy tree farm that dropped without woby stealing it all.)
Before I could remind them the dogs a box they can open.

Now I have to teach them to use compasses and spam an ability.

To be fair that was the Walter player's fault since they could have just toggled her collection skill off if it was a problem for that group.

It's still not great if it makes a skill unusable in multiplayer.

It isn't unusable though the collection perk it's up to the player to work around it either by turning off the skill when they don't feel like monitoring their Woby or by filling her inventory with only what he wants to collect.

I am sad about it because I loved putting useless items in Woby when a Walter ran by.

I'd hear about it like 10 minutes later when they ask how a random piece of fence, or 3 fish got put in Woby.

But also that means I'm immune to being pranked so I'm also fine with previous Walters never getting revenge.

(Also, does this work with spleumonkeys or players specifically?)

I like leaving spare bundle wraps in Woby's bag, so this habit with Walter's Twine Twirler & Woby picking stuff up (like the wax paper) now, Woby's a mobile wrapping station now more than ever, as long as i can toggle that lock :D

They should probably make it a toggle command. Though if you don't have the skill, Woby is most likely near Walter anyways, so it's a minor inconvenience at worst, as you can just ask the Walter to put in/take out whatever.

I think I've seen Walters place telltale hearts in Woby before, so that after dying, they can just float to any player and ask them to open Woby and use it. Kind of a shame that it won't be possible anymore, though it's probably a very niche thing.
