Yaorin yon
When I first saw this idea in a post, I thought it was truly meaningful. And as I was pleasantly surprised by the new interactions with Woby, I felt that changes to Abigail's haunting aspects would be even more meaningful and possible! Abigail could proactively haunt certain things in specific situations or when Wendy does certain actions, [while also increasing the probability of these events. Probabilities of 10% and above will become 100%, and this will also apply to active skills.] This would be a basic function, directly updated to the character, rather than being part of the skill tree. (It would be best to have a "serious mode" to disable these effects in special situations, as haunting doesn't always lead to good outcomes. Alternatively, having specific effects would be even more delightful.) (It would be best to have a "serious mode" to disable these effects in special situations, as haunting doesn't always lead to good outcomes. Alternatively, having specific effects would be even more delightful.) [First, here is the complete list of haunting functions from the wiki. Almost all of my suggestions are related to these.] https://dontstarve.wiki.gg/wiki/Ghost_Characters These effects include but are not limited to: Chopping Trees: Abigail will haunt the trees. This will make the trees fall faster, and there is a very small chance of summoning a Tree Guardian (a prank from her sister). Unlit Campfires: Abigail will haunt the campfire when it is not burning. This will slightly ignite the campfire, almost at the level of lighting a candle. (A warm, human touch of having someone at home.) Resetting Tooth Traps: When Wendy resets a tooth trap, Abigail will haunt the surrounding triggered traps. This will reset the traps, speeding up the process. (A feeling of sisters tidying up after a messy party together.) Floating Objects Near the Boat: When Wendy is on a boat, Abigail will haunt floating objects around her. This will slowly push the objects towards Wendy. (A mutual helping hand.) Exploring Footprints: After Wendy explores a footprint, Abigail will haunt the next footprint. This will open the footprint. (Sisters hunting together.) Freezing/Cooking: When Wendy is freezing or overheating, Abigail will haunt the nearby Star Caller's Staff/Moon Caller's Staff. This will create stars/auroras on the ground. (Taking care of a sick family member.) In my view, these functions are trivial in terms of gameplay, but they embody the "love between family members," which is priceless. Wendy and Walter are rare characters in DST who have a "relative/family member" accompanying them. I hope they both have richer abilities to highlight this unique feature. It is a form of spiritual comfort that is truly precious. Cassielu
Please don't. The scenarios you mentioned are too idealistic. Uncontrolled random haunt may lead to negative or even disastrous consequences in many cases. Although the developer can program her to avoid negative situations as much as possible, it is impossible to guarantee this in the complex and varied situations in the game. Just imagine Abigail burning down your base with a Dwarf Star. I understand that concern, which is why I also proposed an option to actively turn off this feature. I want this to be a boon, not a burden. I should have mentioned the increased probability earlier. Here, I think effects above 10% should be set to 100%, so haunting would extinguish stars. Of course, I also noted that "summoning is only allowed in empty areas when it's too cold." Yaorin yon
Supplement: These contents are designed to be triggered and only take effect when the player performs specific actions. It doesn't mean that Abigail will go haunting on her own. Of course, if they are indeed unpopular, that's also reasonable..... ;( Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/163907-suggestions-for-abigails-automatic-haunting/#findComment-1795539 Share on other sites
Debruh
The thing is though, I'm pretty sure haunting is random. Even if she haunts a starcaller, the star will probably not spawn near Wendy. Also, if they do wanna do adjustments to the skill tree, there are way more skills to focus on. Walter has several new systems outside of the skill tree, among which the interaction system as family/relatives is very eye-catching and comforting. In terms of family/relative interactions in the game, Woby is far superior to Abigail, who is at least on par with Bonnie. Therefore, I hope Abigail can also have such rich content. I just said that this idea doesn't do that. Though, I disagree with the idea that Abby is inferior to Woby. Civecilim
Much simpler would be to just have haunt be on a separate cooldown, and automatically spam used on a targeted entity until a cool effect happens. For example, if you haunt a mushroom, Abigail will repeatedly haunt the mushroom without your input until the mushroom changes color (or you move far away). Yaorin yon
Just like Woby's skill wheel, Abigail's triggered haunting function also has an "On/Off" effect. This will effectively address the concerns that have been raised. Honestly, that's really cool. 8 hours ago, Debruh said: ???? Okay?? I just said that this idea doesn't do that. Although I don't like to say this, the interactions between Woby and Walter are currently much richer than those between Wendy and Abigail. I long for Wendy and Abigail to have many more interactions. Yaorin yon
Although many people seem to express concerns about this feature, I believe that sufficient prerequisite settings and an on/off toggle design would be enough to allay any worries. The experience of this kind of sisterly interaction is invaluable, and I really hope Abigail could have some gameplay expansions in her daily life. 1 minute ago, Yaorin yon said: Although many people seem to express concerns about this feature, I believe that sufficient prerequisite settings and an on/off toggle design would be enough to allay any worries.
