Dame, I did not know you could change characters. This changes one of the points for more saved slots. I'll edit that part out.

Pc version now has infinity save slots, but PlayStation and Xbox was left capped at only 5, which frustrates me beyond belief because the more new skill trees Klei adds to the game, the more characters I want to play as or test out..

And I’m weird: I don’t like using the Celestial Portal to switch characters because I like to play in worlds AS the character I choose at the Beginning to see what all I could Build or how long I can stay alive without switching to someone else..

(your not truly playing as Wes if you switch to Wolfgang for Boss fights.. sorry.)

But due to limited 5 save slots, I have to constantly delete one of my saves whenever a new game content update is released…

Klei should bump it up to AT LEAST 10…

Unable to edit but could repost without mistakes about Celestial Portal and the PC version has more slots. (I play on PlayStation) (Any more Incorrect info because of new updates in-game this post was from January 2025)

From reading a comment that pointed out you can use Celestial Portal to change characters. However, I believe this is a lot of effort to achieve before you can change characters from the beginning character when spawning into the world. Furthermore, beginners/new players can test out other playable characters without deleting worlds as there are more save slots. Some would say I would have deleted the world and started again whilst others may say I prefer the layout of this spawned map resulting in not wanting to delete it. So this depends.

Also, Mike23Ua comment made some great points about challenging oneself without changing. In addition, each character plays differently to achieve the best results and make the most out of their unique abilities. This can be time-consuming, and a hindrance depending on where you are based and how you made your base.

Come to think of it when you consider this changing characters isn't that special though it does have its uses.
