More save slots

Recommended Posts

Throughout the past years you have delivered updates that persuade me to play the game more often.

Updates such as the Quality of life update, adding skilltree, rework on characters and bosses and added a lot of amazing items and features to made the make the game more enjoyable.

My only issue with DST is the limited save lots and the inability to copy saved worlds. This feature would work similar to Minecraft.

Google search: " Can you copy seeds in Minecraft "

On your Klei website early access- general discussion: A post from AlexanderHawk21 on April 28 2019 called More save slots (Google search: dst together save slots )

In this post am not the only one asking for this request since there are more characters then game slots resulting to delete a world to play a different character.

If this change leads to more issues as there are (too many save slots e.g.13) resulting to a slower, less functional game. Then could you please increase DST PS4 save slots from four or both( five save slots with the Reign of Giants DLC & Hamlet.) Increase to 7 save slots instead of 13. If possible and no issues then the more slots the better.

I hope to hear from you letting me know that this will be passed on to the developers.
Finger crossed this will get added.

From reading a comment that pointed out you can use Celestial Portal to change characters. However, I believe this is a lot of effort to achieve before you can change characters from the beginning character when spawning into the world. Furthermore, beginners/new players can test out other playable characters without deleting worlds as there are more save slots. Some would say I would have deleted the world and started again whilst others may say I prefer the layout of this spawned map resulting in not wanting to delete it. So this depends.

Changing Characters with the Celestial Portal is one of the easiest things to do in the game, I mean it’s crazy and broken… they tied a lot of super late game crap to being locked behind Wild Rifts like Armors and the Repairable Brightshade sword which only does BARELY more damage then a Darksword they tied all of that to “End Game” but I can start a Server as Wes and by like idk maybe Day 10, have the Celestial Portal built and able to Swap to Wolfgang or Wanda?? If ANYTHING in this game is stupidly broken, it’s how fast players can gain access to something that should be locked to “late game” requiring just as much effort (or more) to reach as getting Brightshade Weapons & Armor.

Spoiler

Rant aside: To build the Celestial Portal you only need to go to the Mosaic Biome (the one where all the meteors keep falling out the sky..) wait for a Suspicious Boulder to spawn, mine that with a pick axe and the Celestial Orb will drop onto the ground, when standing near this it will give a crafting option for a new recipe that costs some rope and a few boards to craft called portal para (something..) take this back to the Florid Postern you spawned into the game from (it’ll be a swirly looking icon on your mini map) then apply it to the Florid to begin the construction of the Celestial Upgrade, you’ll only need a few extremely basic resources (like moon rocks which fall in the Mosaic where you also got the suspicious Boulder orb from)

Once it’s upgraded you only need to craft a Moon Idol to switch characters (requires one purple gem which is easy to get from killing clockwork enemies OR by combining a Red and Blue Gem which are even Easier to get by digging up grave plots that contain them.

.And after that: You can switch characters as much as you want as long as you feed the florid Postern (now upgraded to celestial portal) a moon rock idol.

but that doesn’t address the point of this thread or topic, Xbox is limited to only 5 save slots, and I like to have certain worlds set up to play the game with certain friends (or strangers) obviously I’m not going to let strangers into my mega world I’ve built up over THREE consecutive Winter Feasts…

But if I had a different server set to being permanently locked to 24/7 summer with wildfires toggled to happen often where I did not care if that world gets burned away or destroyed, I would leave this one open to let random players join in.

My particular issue with the 5 save slot limit, is in trying to unlock everyone’s skill trees, and this is extra especially annoying if I’ve started a world up as say for example Wurt: Whom’s entire skill tree revolves around building her own exclusive base structures, and THEN a new batch of skill trees come out (like the three currently in Beta Limbo Hell..) I have to delete the progress I was making on Wurts world, to start working on the newly released ones.

All of this wouldn’t be an issue if I had 15-20 or even just 10 save slots.
