Twitch and Klei Ambassadors

There have been ongoing issues regarding Klei Ambassadors, specifically concerning individuals who have gained their status unfairly and unethically by any means necessary.

Key Issues

1. Unethical Tactics:
   Some individuals resort to questionable methods, such as:

   • Undermining or taking out the competition.
   • Befriending an existing Klei Ambassador temporarily to gain their recommendation, only to discard them later.

2. Abandonment and Exclusion:
   After gaining the status, these people may:

   • Block the original streamer who helped them on social media.
   • Ban them from Twitch channels, Discord servers, and other platforms.

3. Cycle of Misuse:
   This behavior creates a problematic cycle:

   • Those who gain status through unethical means recommend others who might not qualify under normal circumstances.
   • This creates a network of Ambassadors who may not genuinely align with Klei’s values or the community's best interests.
   • (Unless the applications are closed at that time)

 

I urge current Klei Ambassadors to remain vigilant:

• Be cautious when interacting with people who appear overly friendly or opportunistic.
• Ensure that your recommendations are based on genuine merit and contributions to the community.

Personal Observations

I am aware of at least one confirmed case where this behavior occurred, as well as a second potential case, although I lack complete details or evidence for the latter.

I thought the first priority was to allow people to apply to be Ambassadors again, and that channel has been closed for almost two years.

The incident that happened was 2 years ago and it never left my mind.

People will use someone then cause that specific streamer trauma resulting in them either lose hope in streaming or quitting twitch entirely (which happened to someone i won't name) and then they would prob attempt to recommend people that would need to make effort to even gain the status if the applications are opened.
