Optional game mode: full randomizer

Hello! 

I may have already posted this in the wrong sub, so i am reposting here.

 

Im here after completing the new bionic DLC run.

I absolutely loved the shift gameplay wise that the bio-dupes bringed compared to the classic ones.

After this playthrough however i came to the realization that apart from the early game were i was focussed on getting power compared to food urgency of previous runs, there was nothing too different to do in the mid-late game.

At first i thought that i played this game too much and for me it began to lack on replayability, but later i realized that this is not the truth.

For me what the game is really lacking right now is real reason to shift away the optimal solution and improvise new ones, and i think the solution is making an (optional) randomized gameplay mode. Let me explain:

In this mode you don't have access to all tech three/recipes neither to all critters(and their mutations)/plants/biomes and all is randomized.

You also have a clear goal, for example: sustain 30 dupes for X cicles. Recover Y space artifacts. Deliver Z amount of supercoolant and so on

The goal of this mode would be shorter puzzle-like runs where u have to develop smart and different solutions to not fail.

Of course all recipes and other stuff have to be rebalanced or added. For example right now it's impossible to get coal without hatch so a new (albeit inefficient) recipe for coal should be added in the kiln or other.

TLDR: the goal is to have multiple routes for every mandatory resource in the game. this way you can make a full randomize gameplay mode.

Why i am writing this stuff here? Because i think this would be a nice idea for a future DLC (or if someone want to make a mod ;D).
