Clopsy627
If klei is really going for post game content then What if the ancient gateway let into a shadowy void that was its own biome with unique loot and the shadow thralls as normally spawning enemies. And even the portal in the archives can lead to a lunar version that takes place on the moon! Aka alter and yes i know how crazy this sounds but i would like to hear everyone's thought's Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/163114-i-have-a-idea-for-post-game-biomes/ Share on other sites
Echsrick
in wich way would you do so? because another map would need another server at the same time and thats just unreasonable, so far off into the corner of the caves map? would risk wortox being able to just teleport there...well no...actualy i like that, it fits him, he can in lore just leave when ever he pleases so yea i guess he sould be allowed to just go there but alsol, what would be the reason to go there? Probably a exclusive crafting station and loot that can only be found and used in the respective biomes similar to the crafting stations in the ruins and lunar island or maybe blueprints you can only get by exploring Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/163114-i-have-a-idea-for-post-game-biomes/#findComment-1785563 Share on other sites
Mr.Oshiro
I like such imaginative ideas, which can bring more possibilities to the game. But to be honest, I don't want to see DST continue to add combat content. The core of the game has deviated too much, and exploration and survival content are almost submerged. What is the post game of DST? This means that you have passed the seasonal challenge, built a campsite of a certain scale, had sufficient basic resources, and completed various mainline tasks. If players want to explore the biomes in the later stages of the game, they must meet these conditions. And as Echsrick said, why do players go there? Klei has not been able to solve this problem, so some of the content released in recent years is useless. In the later stages of the game, there is a lack of a suitable survival threat, and klei's grasp of the design scale is not very good. Like glass rain and giant worms, there are many problems that need to be addressed first. In summary, if Klei wants to design a biome for the later stages of the game, the above conditions should be met. Taking the void world you mentioned as an example, the powerful shadow energy here will erode the bodies of survivors. Players need lunar magic to protect themselves, and they can make moon lanterns, eat special foods, wear lunar armor, and so on. There are many shadow traps here, and if players enter, they will be marked with magic, making it easier for enemies to notice. Some areas are shrouded in shadow fog, and walking in them will slow down significantly. Players must have some acceleration props to pass through. Of course, the spoils obtained have their own uses. For example, during winter, there may be lunar blizzards that freeze all buildings and render them unusable. Players need to use tools obtained from the Void World to melt them.
