Nerf for Nurse Spiders

Recommended Posts

Being able to instantly heal spiders to full health makes balancing Webber practically impossible unless changed. The healing should be converted into a recovery buff to cap the amount of healing you can get per second. That way you just need enough nurses to keep the buff up.

Webber can then get skills to give spiders more max health and help them dodge AoEs to compensate for survivability. Cave spiders may need a specific skill since they've got lower health than most other spiders, yet need to actually survive 2 hits to shield. Could be a manually activated ability, or reduce required hits to 1 for shielding.

No one is dodging AoE attacks with minions because it is simply not worth it or impossible. I don't think nurse spiders need a nerf and Webber needs an overall buff, while I can understand why it could be seen as bad to have "immortal" minions until they take enough AoE damage it doesn't mean that they will get any better If this gets nerfed and there's literally no reason to play Webber when you can play Wurt that has a decently powerful skill tree and much better minions.

Abigail got skills related to movement control. Webber can get one that causes spiders to leap far away from a target.

If the AoE doesn't one-shot them, they can't die. Toadstool and BQ have a fear effect that stops nurses from healing, which is the only reason spiders don't just steamroll those.

There's at least one Wurt main (Jakepeng?) who stopped playing her because alignment skills made her merms more broken OP than ever. I really don't want Webber getting the same treatment.

Furthermore, since Klei tends to give powerful characters worse trees, the fact that Webber can just spam nurses risks getting him a low-tier one.

You realize that players have to be even more focused and experienced to be able to control minions in a boss fight.

Its not just a matter of not dying, it has to be worth doing.

Most players prefer when their characters are at least in the middle of the cast in terms of power, there's rarely going to be a backlash because a character is too strong while everyone complains when a character is too weak. There are specific players that want to play weaker characters and weak characters exist which is now Wilson and Wes, I don't think the playerbase that prefers weaker characters warrants for others to be weak and this can be seen from how many Wilson threads we get.

The main reasons that determines whether a character gets better or worse skill trees is whether the character is popular and how much negative feedback is given during the beta.

Wilson's in the other corner, juggling torches.

Klei can be bullied into giving a powerful character a good skill tree, but I'm not sure Webber has enough proponents.

Compared to bringing 30 spitters and 10 nurses and just letting them kill bosses, you mean? Webber has always had more control over his minions (via shoo-box and whistle) than others. Wendy can now command Abigail with Team Spirit skills, so something like that could give him an edge over Wurt.
