@MarcoReverie I've been thinking to add an extra ability to Beard Shield, which is waterproofness. But obviously not as much as rain hat (70%) or umbrella (90%). Maybe 25%-50% depending on the beard stage.

Beard shield is strong enoght, don't you think? Actually, i was reading again your concept on that, and I see that you lose a beard hair after 100 damage. That means you will lose the beard after taken 1,300 of damage? So, eventually you will lose the beard. My point is, there should be an option preserve your beard and its perk. 

Tell me what do you think about this (balancing, function and exchange rates):

Ancient Transmute: New transforms (one-sided): 
10 Moon Rock (or Desert Stone) to 1 Pearl.
8 Bone Shards to 1 Fossil Fragments.
1 Iridescent Gem to 6 Thulecite Fragments.

Finally, you said something about a beard whip? Maybe I insist to much but an eternal Morning star still not convincing me. But, what about extend its durability by a modify. Regarding the beard whip, I thinking better on a Star Flail. A range weapon that extend durability (x days) of a Morning star.

Considering after dying/turning into Wonkey and back to normal you'd also lose the beard, I'd rather have the beard hairs dropped before such thing happened lel

If anything, your beard comb is the one that hadn't convinced me lmao :wilson_curious: since if we were to take account multiplayer-gaming time, it can only be shared with Webber (but of course most Webbers don't mind shaving their beard for silks).

But an electric whip does sound interesting so :wilson_lightbulb: considering we had the melee option (morning star) and dart option (electric darts).

Well, all Beard perks are exclusive for Wilson. I mean, none of them have a multiplayer purpose. Maybe the storage but just for carrying food.

The idea on the comb is because all your perks related with your Beard will lose on summer. You can not storage, shaving every 2 days, no armor, etc.

“Ruin the game”? Poor Wilson players are just unleashing their imagination in their own little corner, not disturbing anyone.

not necessarily, you can put thermal stones in iceboxes and swap them whenever one turns grey. or watering them on a farm plot (it can go down much cooler than the one kept in icebox). or go to caves. or late game-wise, use the Ice Crystaleyezer (such a silly name, I just nicknamed it Ice-zer) - it had a decently big range that covered the areas of my base that I'm around frequently.

the point is, there are now many ways to keep cool during summer without losing the beard. I myself had gone countless days without shaving the beard.

Maybe also give the blueprint/prototyping skills the ability to "learn" crafting recipes from unfamiliar items he picked up? I think it's in spirit for Wilson to try to "learn on the go" by trying to make a copy of something cool he just saw without a station. Potentially make it work with some items, that can't be prototyped? Idk, just a random thought of mine. Your Skill tree concept is good!

Lots of this is great, balancing his role as a survivor and a scientist. Alchemy and Metallurgy are logical next steps for him.

But I have one gripe: Wilson should be given a Portable Science Station, which can be upgraded to other station tiers, and have different cosmetic designs to match different Wilsons. It is all I wanted when his rework was announced.

You know, I've been thinking about something funny; what if Wilson can actually use 'the power of his mind' to fight.

It could be a head-slot contraption that shoots some lasers at the cost of his sanity. (yes, it's kinda like a discount frygoggles Wagstaff had but whatever lmao)

kinda like that yeah, lmao

but I imagine just shooting lasers and then run a bit while waiting for it to be out of cooldown before attacking again is well, not exactly a fun fight (granted, that's probably more in fault of DST combat system if anything) so eksdee

Well, will you add it to you concept tree? I know is difficult to get a final version, jeje.
