I love the new gingerbread house chest!  Thank you!

• Boat (square-rigger) chest
• Spider/web chest
• Bone chest
• Furry chest
• Feather chest

Please let us buy/spool-craft the steamer trunk!  I love that thing and am terribly jealous of others who have it!

I skin chests to show what's in them.  I typically use the following chests:

Gingerbread Chest
Kitchen supplies: tallbird eggs, stone fruit, sometimes a pickaxe.  Near the crock pots and fridge.  I like the look of this one.

Pastoral Chest
Gardening supplies: Rot, manure, implements.  I put this just over one tile away from the garden and usually on the far side from other areas.  Sometimes next to a compostumbler.  I absolutely love the look of this one.

Flock's Chest
Fire: Charcoal and random stuff (like turfs) that I intend to burn.  This can sometimes become a gunpowder production chest, or a second identical chest next to it does.  Placed next to fire, to side of Alchemy Engine.

Archaic
Stone, sometimes with flint, nitre, and cut stone.  Placed to side of Alchemy Engine

Classic
Plant materials: Wood, twigs, grass, boards.  Placed to side of Alchemy Engine

The Lamb's Reward
Magic and Valuable Stones: Red, Purple, and Blue gems.  Gold, Moon Rock,  Reeds.  Sometimes Marble and maybe Jet Feathers. Placed near Shadow Manipulator, but kind of between it and the Alchemy Engine.

Corrupted Chest
Glommer goop, Glommer's flower, and extra Tree Jam.

Crimson Chest
Technology: Gears, Wires, extra electrical doodads.

Brute Case
Animal parts.  Usually I have one for skins and furs, one for bones and horns, and one for feathers and bee stuff.  I like the look of this one.

I don't use the Celebratory Cake Chest because it doesn't look like a chest.

Location-specific Chests (skins matter less)
Serious Magic: Rare gems (green, yellow, orange), Thulecite and fragments.  Usually a construction amulet.  Sometimes extra living logs or shadow fuel. Placed near a fully repaired Ancient Pseudoscience Station

I often put a chest on the side of base near something I go to.  Like there will be a Boating chest on the side of the surface base near where I plan to set tail.  A Caves chest on the side of the surface base nearest the sinkhole.  A surface chest on the side of the cave base toward the surface.  A ruins chest on the side of the cave base toward the ruins.  I should say that my "cave base" is a sort of staging area (and summer base) in the muddy biome just outside the lichen fields.  I like to do this within sight of a Bunny Hermit if one is available, so I can see if it's day or night on the surface and also near some light plants for maximum free light.  I place a Thulecite Medallion on the ground on the ruins side of this outpost.

I still start my bases by throwing everything on the ground that's unlikely to be eaten.  It's only later-game that I clean up.
