What if Warly's future skilltree encouraged him further to juggle different kinds of dishes? Something that would incentivize going for more exotic ingredients, and going for dishes that some might normally ignore. He could get a unique crockpot dish streak that sticks to him permanently, unlike food memory which has a timer and stat punishment. The streak will serve purely as encouragement to expand on his palate - it will only grant buffs, it will not punish you if you wish to simply keep eating Meaty Stew/Meatballs, although you'll be missing out. Warly builds up a streak of unique crockpot dishes he has eaten in a row, which grants him various bonuses that last until he repeats the dish he has already eaten in such streak. Example: Warly starts out a streak at 0. He eats Meatballs. The streak becomes 1. He eats Butter Muffin. The streak becomes 2. He eats Pierogi. The streak becomes 3. He eats Meatballs again. Now his streak is 0. (I'm still not sure how punishing should repeating dishes be. It's disheartening to be at your 37th dish and then see that streak suddenly plummet to zero. Perhaps it should deduct only a set amount of points?) Contrary to Food Memory, such streak of unique dishes has no expiration timer. Warly will have to go out of his way to discover the most obscure dishes to keep it up, putting in hard work in exchange for greater buffs. The higher the streak is, the stronger the buffs. What kind of buffs? Could be simple extra stat boosts to crockpot dishes. Streak 5-9 could grant +15 Hunger and +5 Sanity/Health bonus to eaten crockpot dishes. Streak 10-15 could grant +25 Hunger and +10 Sanity/Health. And so on and so forth. Perhaps eating a dish at high streak could empower the buffs/spices further? A streak of 5-10 could make Spices mildly stronger, going even stronger at streaks of 11+. This could also affect his special dishes (e.g. Fish Cordon Bleu) by prolonging their buff duration, or even adding some extra effect. Or the mechanic could give a separate extra bonus that rewards you for eating different food type the higher your streak is. If your streak is 10 and higher, eating a Vegetable dish after eating Meat dish could grant a mild health regeneration of 1/sec, up to 20. All of these examples and numbers are very rough, they are simply to deliver the point across. The point is to encourage Warly to go out of his way not only to aim for a bigger variety of dishes, but to also strategize what kind of dish to eat to receive a specific bonus for your benefit. What do you think?
