Random idea: What if Walter's skill tree has the theme of a Handbook?

Recommended Posts

I noticed that Wendy's skill tree is shaped like a spirit board, and Wortox's skill tree is shaped like a balance. They are both creative and suit the characters lore wise, and I believe that making Walter's skill tree themed as a handbook would be really cool.

I really like the idea of giving Walter a cool skill tree design like those two have. I believe I saw someone else on the forums suggest reshaping the slingshot section so that the layout looked more like a slingshot, with the Slingshotsmith skill at the center and his other "progression lines" forming more of an upside curve, which is another cool idea. Can you describe more of what a skill tree shaped like a handbook would look like, though? Because right now I'm imagining just vertical columns stacked against each other, which I don't think is your idea.

I might be stretching a little, but I think Walter's skill tree is supposed to be scout patches/badges, because of the implied stitching on the textures. If this is what they were aiming for, it would be nice to have a couple more shapes.

I have a lot of fragmented ideas on this one...

For example on the left side of the book there could be an illustration of a slingshot with some basic skills at the bottom and the slightly advanced ones above on the upside curves. Or maybe putting the slingshotsmith stuff at the handle part and let lunar and shadow take each side of the frame?

And lower on this page would be Woby training, I don't have much idea, maybe in the shape of a paw print?

On the right side I can see a tent and a campfire with all the scout skill points on top, and the lower right corner can have a worn-out look which is for "forbidden knowledge" like lunar and shadow affinity perks

Guess what, I didnt notice that before lol

So yes, it's definitely a good idea to emphasize that and add some new shapes to make it look more like badges
