Chewabacca
In line with the idea of giving Walter some skills for a nomad playstyle, his own repair kit would be useful. It could be slightly cheaper than the sewing kit and could restore the durability on non-clothing items, including tools, weapons, and armor. This would free up some inventory slots and/or let Walter go longer between base visits to grab whatever he needs. MisterBilly
Item maintenance isn't really taught in scouts as far as I'm aware. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/162547-walter-repair-kit/#findComment-1778827 Share on other sites

All Merit Badges A-Z | Boy Scouts of America also, we already have another repair kit alternative, and somehow the community dislikes it very much when characters' perks overlap. edit: here are badges from the scouts of Canada, since our boy is Canadian Outdoor Adventure Skills Personal Achievement Badges – Scouts | Scouts Canada Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/162547-walter-repair-kit/#findComment-1778848 Share on other sites

I figured that Walter's slingshot mod kit proves he's decent enough with handcrafts (although obviously not enough to make something really new on his own, like Wilson or Winona) to get away with being good at some maintenance on regular tools. 21 hours ago, _mylilsunshine_ said: also, we already have another repair kit alternative, and somehow the community dislikes it very much when characters' perks overlap. Facepalming because I somehow forgot about trusty tape, thank you. And while that's only able to fix clothing, Winona's inventions, and boats, unlike this idea, which would be geared more towards tool and armor repair, Winona is the engineer character, so you're right, Walter having an similar item with even wider usage would prompt concern about Winona's role getting stomped on. It's frustrating to try and think of ideas for Walter survival/nomad skills that are both impactful and don't risk infringing on other characters' territory--food preservation was another idea I had but then realized that that was Warly's gig. Thank you for the link to the merit badge list.
