can craft a “spider friend” from 2 silk and a beefalo wool that when in hands of players will make spiders be neutral to players. Lasts 15 days, can be given 1 silk to restore 5 days.

Wurt can give this to the merm king to make the same apply to all merms

you could put this in his skill tree and give it 2 tiers like this;

arachnamor: spider sanity effect is removed and spiders now give you +3.33 sanity when close, also spiders will now attack enemies that attack players with a spider friend.
