Steorra
At the current stage, it seems that Wendy has Wolfgang-like DPS already, however it is weird - that this DPS is extremely high for pre-rift, but weak for post-rift (particularly for shadow abi line), similar to Wanda's performance which is affected by the lack of planar damage. Wendy's current DPS seems broken for pre-rift scenarios. This is problematic. Why should we create a character skill tree that provides extremely high DPS with low planar damage for pre-rift, but performs poorly for post-rift? In my experience, a skill tree should enhance QoL and improve characters by focusing more on post-rift gameplay, which is the current Wendy skill tree couldn't did. I recommend adjusting Wendy's lunar & shadow skill lines, to ensure she has effective planar DPS for the post-rift endgame. Additionally, we should ensure that Wendy doesn't have OP damage in the pre-rift phase as a price for post-rift performance. Here's an idea for Shadow Line, particularly for Shadow Sisterhood II - reduce Abi's Vex damage amplifier slightly, and double Abi's attack frequency. The basic logic behind this idea is to reduce the effectiveness of the Abi Vex amplifier in order to decrease general DPS of Wendy, however the high-frequency attack speed of Abi would result in a "lower but high-frequency" damage output, which is more effective against planar mobs compared to the "higher but low-frequency" damage output of Wanda. I must to say, this is an immature and inconsiderate idea. I believe that if Klei decides to implement this, it would require further adjustments and a better balance regarding the numerical values. I have less creativity for Wendy tbh, but I do hope she could gets more interesting & suitable mechanism and QoL from the skill tree update, rather than just simple Wolfgang-like values. In my opinion, the current best skill trees are for Woodie and Wortox. I hope Wendy could receives a similar skill tree that addresses her critical downsides, enhances her advantages, and introduces new, creative and cool mechanisms. Wolfgang-like DPS is never included among all these shining elements. PS: There's a reason why Wendy mainly appears reluctant to say "no" to the current broken DPS: current Wendy skill tree is still low-quality, far worse than Woodie Wortox Winona etc. If we give a "no" voice to current broken DPS, we may have a low-quality skill tree and lose the only one DPS compensation in the end (Even the Shadow Abi part is bad for post-rift and the mechanism is inconvenient). This would be unacceptable for us. We want more better skill tree with more suitable creativity and downside fixing like Wortox, there is a considering that if in the end we can not reach this aim, at least we want the broken DPS become the only one compensation. (Which means other skills for current Wendy is still meh. They may be fine, but still not good enough - or even some of them are still meaningless.) Peasant
Makes sense. I would rather have Wendy dealing extra planar damage when attacting vexed enemies than to have a pre rift Wenlfgang. WenericMember
I just want to make sure the shadow potion stays boosting vex, as its the only skill in the entire tree toinvolve the mechanic. Making it planar boost is good tho Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/161684-i-think-current-wendys-dps-is-broken-its-not-op-its-problematic/#findComment-1767002 Share on other sites
